Thanks Dan, I remember it well.
The car's been checked by two mechanics now, apparently I have no leaks. I'm just trying to arrange to borrow a car so i can send the ecu back to Will.

I feel for you mate, you will get there in the end tho:)

Yes, I had the brake servo hose replaced ages ago, just trust they did the work.
I've already tried a brand new N75 (my original is a 'C' new one is an 'F'), absolutely no difference.
I tried switching back to the original DV too but no difference.

The car seemed to be running fine before on the standard map.
I'd just fitted the Laguna intercooler and saw no decrease in boost. I was getting 8/9 psi and pulling hard.
After the remap was done, on first test drive I felt more of an urgency lower down the revs as if the car was more responsive but when I put my foot down it didn't seem to pull any harder than before but this must be due to my missing boost.

Sorry what I meant was, you should turn off revo, and see if your car is still unhappy... that way you will know if it is the map that is causing issues.
It's one less thing to worry about.

Update:
I took it to TSR in Bridgwater to put on the rolling road and investigate.
The printout I have is for 186bhp but they said on one run it got 194bhp and was reaching the actual boost request of 14psi.
I haven't done a log myself so don't know what the revised map is requesting.
They adjusted my actuator slightly - don't know why!
I think I need to do my own Vag-Com logs again with the revised map you put on to see what's actually going on. If it is matching a requested boost of 14psi high revs then this would explain the relatively healthy bhp. If it is requesting 21 peak mid range but only managing 14 then this would explain the slight lack of torque at 205lb/ft. I'm still none the wiser!

I did some logs and now I'm really confused.
Totally different results to logging on previous remap.
With the revised map, TSR is right, it is pretty much making requested boost top end but not bottom end. I thought the new map was requesting more than that though.
MAF figures look good peaking at 162g/s, although wastegate duty is looking quite high for the boost I'm getting isn't it?
I'm worried about the timing though as on the previous map I had hardly any movement on the figures but now I am. I did a torque run just for fun and got 208 lb/ft at 4200rpm.
I don't think I have a boost leak else it wouldn't be reaching requested boost at any time (am I wrong?), but I'd expect it to make closer to requested boost lower down. Maybe my actuator is a bit duff or could it be the turbo?
I have a little fin damage on the Laguna intercooler where it had caught on the bumper. That's been fixed now and I understand the fins only help to cool, the air runs through the horizontal lines which are fine. You will see I saw max 33 deg which was on it's second run so that must be working and not leaking, and the air feeds to my open cone filter are doing their job.
Suppose there could still be a blockage somewhere though, like in the intercooler or cat, or it's the actuator?
Please let me know your thoughts. Many thanks.
P.S. Can anyone enlighten me what 'injection on time (ms)' is on block 002 and whether it looks OK?

im very glad i found this post, ive had this problem since january and have fixed a number of small problems and still only getting boost of 10psi, i had my re-map done by a diffrent company but like your self since the map its never boosted to what is being requested.

think ill get back on to the map company see if anything can be done, i have replaced the n75, maf and many pipes with the hope i could cure it but now after reading this and having no fault codes on vag-com im certain its the map.

i also was expecting 190-200bhp and only produced 175 iirc.

Wow, check out those CF's!!!

Fuelling is pretty much fine, how are your plugs?


I've logged in the past and never seen anything like those CF figures before until this current revised remap (same company). The plugs were changed back in March/April. Might it have anything to do with the actuator being touched?

How can you tell about the fueling?

I don't think the plugs are affecting the boost but I'll change them if you can recommend others to try.
Strange things is that TSR (they didn't map it) seemed happy about how it was performing. Another mechanic elsewhere said that maybe that's just how the car is :shrug:

have you had new coil packs recently as well or you not chanegd them. i was getting some bad cf's changed spark plugs to NGK's and couple of new coil packs and all went away, will affect the boost with bad cf's as will pull timing back.
 
I would put my finger on a weak actuator spring before anything else? Car is wanting more boost but the actuator can't keep the wastegate shut so your bleeding off exhaust gas? Seems like the "easy option" to me?

I don't know if this will work on a cupra -- My friend showed me the trick once... take the vacuum pipe off the actuator and attach a foot pump, push down on the foot pump and if your actuator opens early (ie a lower boost pressure than it should) the spring is a bit weak? Does that sound plausable?

I could blame fuel, I'm running on 95 ron and am unsure what it's mapped for.

I don't know about heatsoak, the intake temps seemed pretty good to me (unless that's different to heatsoak).

The actuator has been my suspicion all along but I've had two attempts at fitting my Forge actuator. It looks like a turbo off job though to me which would probably take about 3 hours garage labour. I does seem like a weak actuator spring but sureley TSR would have seen on the rolling road whether the wastegate was opening/closing properly? That's why it went there.

The blocked cat has been an option too as it was a bit smelly but has been OK for a while now and passed emissions in April.

Also consider a blocked cat if your on standard downpipe and a wound out actuator.

When you say 'wound out' do you mean wound towards the actuator rather than the end of the rod?
I understand I'll be making the spring stiffer by winding it towards the actuator. Shall I wind it all the way and do another log? Surely fueling will be OK as long as it's not reaching over the requested boost levels?
Sorry for being a bit naive about these things but I need to decide whether it'll be worth spending £75 on labour putting the Forge one in. Many thanks.
