New Cupra owner, recommend mods

I think the Intake pipe i had to buy the clamp kit from them but with the cold side relocator it came with them. Give them a ring and ask, they are very helpful. The cone filter makes the valve louder as it dumps the air back into the tip not just for induction roar.

will that give induction noise tho? like a corsa with some sutpid piper x on it?

Also Richybigman, what other pipes do you have on your car? the engine bay looks sweet.

It will give a induction noise but if you want any type of dump valve noise you will have to go for one. Pipe wise i have the TIP, Cold side relocator hose, Left upper intercooler hose and bought some lengths of silicon hose off ebay and replaced what i could.

.

These Sounds tend to be more subtle than that......with the extra induction roar noise you also hear the turbo spooling which is a lovely sound.

When you lift off you get a subtle dump valve sound unless you buy something like the Forge Split-R which dumps some air to atmosphere and gives a louder dump valve - whooosh sound

To make full advatage of the sounds above you need a remap, when your running more boost etc it sounds a whole lot better

Rather than physically replace the chip and break open the ECU, these clever guys flash new code to a spare area on the existing chip and don;t need to ever touch the ECU. All done via diagnostics port in the car.

Stage 1 - usually just a basic remap but the biggest gains say 30-40bhp
Stage 2 - may squeeze and extra 10bhp if your lucky but needs £1,500 of mods (exhaust, FMIC, Induction kit etc) to get there

IMO having driven stage 2 cars is that the extra performance (real world ) over stage 1 is negligable

Stage 1 is circa £550 for 30-40bhp extra - you do the maths ;) hell yes it's worth it

MPG is roughly the same you'll get 27mpg is mixed driving stage 1 (you'll get 27mpg without a remap too ;) )

Does it go wrong - depends who you use, I'd recommend someone who has good customer support etc......99.5% reliable but you want back up incase IMO. If you choose a £199 remap special from the back of Autotrader then expect to get what you paid for.

Also, ignore all the b0llocks about custom and generic remaps for stage 1 and stage 2 there is bugger all difference

stage one sounds like a good upgrade and £500 is cheap. if the car stated to play up seat would blame the remap. i have a few mates that work there so should be a huge problem.

This will be my first car that i wont be servicing my self so kind of scared if that makes sense. Want to triple check that im going for the right car.
