not really, maybe run smoother. more of a race sound if that makes sense. not Nova noise but so it stands out from other Cupra Rs around town.

Would you get a power gain with a de cat?

Sorry for the exhaust questions but im use to pugs and a magnex makes a huge improvement

I was going to ask if you came from an NA tuning background.

Lots of people start with the exhaust which they then spend £600-£1,000 replacing and get (if they are lucky) 1-2bhp and a turbo spooling about 200rpm sooner max. I can back this up with rolling road graphs on LCR's run on the same day, same dyno etc.

Now I can understand getting more noise from a V6 but the 1.8T unit sounds more....'industrial' than tunefull.

Seriously think about spending the money elsewhere

cool, thanks for the reply.

i dont want to tune it like mad yet but it will be come a play car. I have about 3k to spend once ive paid for the insurance and the car, 500-650 is on a new head unit. People do big up the forge intake pipe and cooler air pipe for the DV. so think thats the first £400 gone.

what do you think about the dealer asking 12k for a cupra with 2 owners and 42k on the clock?

looking around its not cheap more of a rip off. should i wait for a lower mileage car?

If it drives fine etc etc.

TBH £12k from a dealer sounds about right for an LCR. You can get for not much more money a newer car with fewer miles but depends on your budget. There are now 55 plates around for under £14k I have seen. Wish I had waited a few months beofre buying mine!!!

when you say set right? what does that mean.

you can split it to make the normal dump valve noise or quite right?

You have to adjust the top of it to set the spring rate which i never managed to get right. You can't adjust the sound of it. As far as i know you'd be better off getting an open cone filter and a Bailey DV30 Recirc valve which apparently make a nice noise.

i dont want induction noise as that sounds like a boy racer and just sounds s**t.

Will get the DV and the two pipes from forge and go from there. Next is the exhaust but will see what it goes like for a month.

Think people have answered my questions so thank you all. Anyone else reading this please add more info as i will be checking and its good to have peoples input.

question to Richybigman. when you got the DV relocate pipe and intake pipe did they come with clamps? Forge states they dont but the relocate pipe does show them in the pic.

Thanks
Steve
