The standard multivane wheel on a Leon 20VT is 7x16 with offset ET42, cos i checked mine t'other day.

Have a look at this offset calculator, http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

it might help expalin things, but i'd say that offset is wrong on a Leon which is why they've flogged you 15mm spacers, which IMHO are way to much on the front, in any case you shouldn't need spacers on a 20VT, if you have the right offset wheels, i'd send em back matey, i reckon they've supplied the wrong ones, i would have said you should be looking at ET35 or ET38

ibiza cupra...chamfer! ? (sorry to be dull)

:hide:
one side of the spacer, on the inside diameter, has a \ / type angle machined into it (aka a chamfer)

this \ / goes onto hub phat end ^^^ to allow for the radius on the hub so it will sit flat

|______/ ............. \_______| this lower face goes to hub. Other side is flat to wheel

agh! right, i think mine is the wrong way around... i think.. thank you guys hope this changes things.. if not any other ideas? should i ballance the wheels again, i thought the lip should face the wheel as it fits inside the inner part of the wheel

Its a flat spacer... its not difficult.
have yoiur wheels all got their spigot rings in place? have they fallen out? is the wheel a snug fit on the hub, centering properly..
if yes to all this then wheel balance would seem to be the only thing left unanswered

yeah its got spigot rings. sit flush and is much better. i think i need more weights in the front, i have swapped all the wheels round and noticed that the rear had more weights on them so stuck them on the front.. just need to add a little more-- thank you all for your help and advice.
