I want to get my car mapped by jabba but cant justify paying 475 to get it mapped then the tell me oh it took 2 extra hours at 60 so you now owe us £595, im in a dilema now

that wont happen mate mine was longer than four hours and they never charged me extra they had problems with there rolling road thats why it took longer for me they do have quite a few tea breaks at jabba i think really it takes more like 2 hours to map a ko3s
they said ko4 and ihi are the ones that take there time to map

Ah rite, glad to hear, i sent them am email and got this reply:

"Firstly, i wouldn’t recommend running the car on standard 95ron fuel, you wont gain as much power from a remap as you could with say Vpower, the characteristics of the fuel are completely different! We could map the car, and yes it would take longer we’d charge £475 for a normal custom map and then an hourly labour charge on how long it over runs, we’re booking about 2 weeks in advance at the moment, but would recommend booking as soon as possible due to the car needing longer than a standard car, please make whoever takes your call aware of this".

I usually run my car on normal 95 also if i requested to get it mapped on this im sure they would.

Yeah getting one of them and fitting it is no bother, would probs have a drive down and fit it when i got there so i wasn't running down with it in. I always use normal 95 so.. have you got a dp and race cat?

and you think Jabba are the only ones who can map cars????

c'mon guys

Custom... is done by other people too, without having to open up your ecu and solder sockets for emulators etc

unless youve had a revo trial, then they wouldnt touch ECU's nowadays, all OBD port mapped.

Your right CC do mapping also, but the thread was opened upa sking about Jabbasport.

previous JS mapped car, so previous Chip fitted, hence have to open it up, remove chip, plug in emulator, map it, remove emulator, blow eprom, plug it in and reassemble ecu.

;)

Oddly enough I do know how its done and the title of the thread too!
and I have seen and logged this local car frequently too.

you dont have to open up ecu's which have had trials on them with others people programming tools. (eg CC) - flash them is the way. (on the bench often in case of ibiza's and their rubbish comms lines)

:D

i was in a foul mood earler, i know you know your stuff :) Didnt knwo it was an oldie JS ECU :)

Your right with regards to the ibiza's lines, OMG so flakey when mapping. Even vag-com doesnt always work first time around.

Just otu of interest, can you reset flash counters on ecu's mate?
