This quarters offer from SEAT for the FR (leon & altea) and the leon Cupra is that if you buy one of the aforementioned cars between 1st july and 30th sept you get a free track day. on the track day you get drive an FR/Cupra around a track with tuition and shown some manoeuvres......coooooool!!!

looks like there are 5 events/venues to choose from and the events are hosted by Jason Plato and Darren ... (forgot his name) who drive for SEAT.

we put an order in for an FR over the weekend and the missus says that i can go

not sure if oulton park was on the menu, ive left the little booklet at home. from memory there were a venue in scotland, yorkshire, warwickshire, wiltshire and surrey. dont remember which tracks though, which is pretty useless, sorry

I've been driven by JP in a SCC car - it's well worth the experience.

silverstone is an old airfield.

rich, i believe subaru owners have their 'scoobie shoot outs' at elvington. a standing 1/4 event, however i'm sure a few cones could be put up to drive around.
i wonder if it could be offered to people taking delivery in july

Most race tracks began life as airfields, there are only a few that were purposely built as race tracks from day one.

some more info, this is what it says in the little booklet that i have:

MIRA - 37 miles of twists, turns and straights...leading testing facility in nuneaton

knock hill - scotlands national motorsport centre

dunsfold - airfield...a fav venue of top gear

elvington - airfield

wroughton - airfield

they all sound like fun really, especially if its a freebie and they let you loose in an FR or a Cupra. i certainly wouldnt be driving like that in my own car (cost too much in brakes and tyres )

so it will be interesting to be able to to see the limits of the cars in a controlled environment, rather than scare yourself to death!

Surprised they're using MIRA. MIRA stopped all public stuff a number of years back due to some high speed crashes.

Do you know if cars bough through internet based companies - drive the deal etc etc qualify for these offers as the car is still being supplied by a UK dealer?
Hope so. I ordered my FR TDI last week so this would be a bonus.

the conditions on the brochure are roughly that you purchse a FR or Cupra between 1st july and 30th sept; aged between 21-70 and have valid driving licence (duh?); not emplyees, their family of seat; not on cancelled orders; retails sales only.

i guess you just have to ask. u dont get what u dont ask for
