not much good on the road then...unless you want a driving ban

lol, yeah.

Well I'd say they get going much earlier. Lets put it this way, valvers are AWESOME cars on country roads and 3rd gear is you friend. Between 40mph and 115mph it goes like stink.

p.s. FWD cars that do 13s go through front tyres like there's no tomorrow and become useless in the wet.

You wont be disappointed with a valver Ibiza, I can guarantee you that, but you have to work for it (makes it much more rewarding) as the power main power band isn't until 4000rpm till about 6750rpm But if big BHP is what you are after, you are better off saving up for a mk3 1.8t Ibiza as you can tune those to 330+ BHP, whereas with the mk2 you'll struggle hitting 200.

Thanks for the info. Sounds good :)
Im guessing that cams and a remap are just going to push the power higher up the revs?
Still, over 150bhp would make me happy :)

Yeah, cams, remap, decat tend to improve the top end, in exchange for a bit less low down grunt, which is kinda the opposite of what I'd want. Mainly because as standard you can hit 136mph in the 16v, which is more then fast enough, its the acceleration I'd rather improve. Good front tyres and stripped interior help a little but then it gets hard.

There are various things people on here have opted for:

"Chrisdaman" is supercharging his mk2 16v Ibiza using an M45 charger from a mini cooper s (I think)

"Roly" has stuck the mk3 (1.8t 20v) engine in his mk2 Ibiza

"F2_Stu" has had extensive work carried out on his engine including ITBs (throttle bodies)

Its not that the options are not there, they are just a little expensive

Never realised teh Ibiza is a 1300kg car. That is effing heavy!!!

Remove as much trim as poss and any excess that you don't need. The weight saving is anice cheap way to improve performance.

13 seconds in a stock 150 bhp car weighing 1300kgs is definately keen. 172bhp e30s at 1100kgs consider 15 seconds to be about right. Albeit they may have shed a few horses down the years, so perhaps 160- 165bhp would be fairer.
