ive noticed that after ticking over for least say 10 mins or so i get a little puff of blue smoke when i rev it
and when i start from cold its a very small amount of grey smoke it puffs out then it clears with in a second its not using any oil and it does not smoke on full boost or on the overun
could this be valve stem oil seals
will this get worse

Mine are being being sorted now.

Valve stem oil seals normally smokes on overun when you put your foot down again.

Yours could be the turbo seals or rings tho.

Do a compression test to see what you get. I got 180's across the board but i think more than just the seals were causing my oil burning.

Hi mate that sounds exactly like i have, there a certain hills i go down and i can guarantee once i'm at bottom and put foot down again i will get a puff of blue smoke.

What were your symptoms?

Any idea of cost for these mate? can they be done easily enough by yourself?
cheers

Mines smokes on idle, in traffic when pull off...let it roll in a gear and putt foot down...BIG puff of smoke...
Stem seals a head off job..(some people say can do it with head on)....most garages charge between 400-650ish...

My compression results

Code:
Atemps	C1	C2	C3	C4
1	12.5Bar	12.75Bar	12.5Bar	13.Bar
2	12.5Bar	12.60Bar	12.4Bar	12.25Bar
3	12.5Bar	12.75Bar	12.5Bar	13.Bar
4	-	-	-	13.Bar

After fitting a catch can to clean up the PCV ventilation/recirculation stuff mine got a bit better. Changing turbo it got better still, and I think the last 10% is probably valves but I've done 183k so it's probably not that bad!

Old thread but hoping for some advice.i have a seat leon cupra engine code AUQ.
For some time i was getting a cloud of blue smoke on cold start which clears straight away. This would be after the car had been left standing for at least 10 hours.
Also once the engine is warm occasionaly i wil get a puff of blue smoke when pulling off from traffic lights.
And when reversing when the engine has warmed up i somtimes see a puff of blue smoke go past the pasenger side window sometimes worse than others.
The symptoms dont happen every day and seem to be worse in warm weather.

I had a compresion test caried out around 5 months ago and all was well
also boost tests no leaks

i changed the oil on the car which seemed to improve the symptoms for around 2.5k but now the symptoms are coming back again not sure what to do next? ??
