Was all fine until about 9pm Monday night, then basically a river ended up with my garage and garden as it's destination. Luckily i'd parked the Altea at the front of the house in the street.
Finally about 7 last night the water subsided enough for me to make it throught the garden in wellys (still only about 1cm from the top!) to the garage to assess the damage.

Contents of the gararge, including bottles of turps, bikes, paint cans etc all floating around my wife's FR. At first i thought it may be ok but then noticed the tide mark about 4-5 inches above the level of the door sill.
Opened the door to see about an inch of standing water in the foot wells. So check the exhaust and at some point it was under water, anyway thought i'd give it a go and see if it started. Bring first time, can't believe it!! Did chuck a load of water out the back though.
Plan now is to get it to the local dealer for them to assess the damage before i get the insurance people in.

i bet if rover still owned the mini, it would have had range rover snorkles *spelling* as an optional extra
