Hello All

I have a ibiza 1.4 at the moment and am just about to purchase for cupra suspension shocks and springs. (apparently these ride a little lower and a little firmer than stock) i dont have money for aftermarket coilovers etc, and im picking up these shocks and springs for 60 delivered.

so on to the real question

how difficult is it to replace the current suspension with the ones off the cupra ?

i can do stuff on the car but have never touched shocks before so any advice / pointers would be great.

if this isnt in the right place please move it.

Cheers

Adam

you really need a spring compressor for a start, and mark up the front strut position as this alters your camber settings, if you can get a golf mk 2 or 3 haynes manual then this will do the job,

This will compress your spring to enable you to get the shock out, it clamps the spring in 4 places and then you tighten it up reducing the comperssion of the spring. Release this and then do the same to the new one but in reverse. Be careful these can be dangerous !!! Car spares shops, tool shops or halfords sell them about £10 to £20.

bush and bearing, if i remember correctly, i have only ever done the fronts so dont really know too much about drums ect. Tend to learn as i need to doing little extras when i get time and money. Its a good idea to do it while they are off. "Is it needed" i dont really know youll have to get this answer elsewhere
