Right, finally got round to fitting the Nomad pillar & gauges this morning.

After much p***ing about with dash & firewall got everything in.

Have got both gauges lit up ok, but Oil temp is not registering anything .. i'm going to check all the wiring over the wkend, an then order a new sender on Monday if I don't have any luck.

Boost Gauge is fine, altho I want to check some figures with everyone.

Full throttle in 2nd gear is only showing about 5psi, is this right. I had a look round and couldn't find a mention of what the std boost should be on an LC...can someone confirm please.
The other thing is that I showing -30psi when I'm just cruising up the road (little or no throttle) is that right?

Other than those hicup's i'm happy with the install, and once i'd finished with the fiddley bits it was plain sailing especially with Moff's (Rob) wiring guide).

I'll get some pic's up once i've got it all working!

Cheers in advance.

mine is a LCR and keeps bout 10psi on full throttle, spikes bout 12, it sits at 0 when just cruising alone,
5psi seems low, but dont know bout the cupras
oh and sits between 20 and 30 hg vac.

sounds low adam to me mine goes up to about 14psi then settles and when not using throttle it sits -20-30 or so, if sender isnt reading where did you plum the wires into? did you use my guide??

Yup followed your guide, White wire on Oil sender to gauge, black to -ve on battery (altho having checked in the last 10mins I had forgotten to tighten the battery connection fully...but it was finger tight, so shouldn't make a difference)

I took the perm +ve fromthe gauge to the dist block under the dash, as the Scotblox weren't big enough to take a feed from the dimmer loom live.

Everything else is as per the info you supplied.

Will double chk all of the vac connections when I get to work, and report back after that.

Comprehensive check of the wiring will prob have to wait until I get up on Saturday after night shift.

This may be me being over paranoid, but re the Boost gauge & the seamidly low Boost PSI, if when I check the T piece connections etc and all appears ok where else should I start to look for pressure leaks?

Also, could this be a sign of a dodgy N75? Would this throw the "check engine light" on, or just a fault code on Vag-Com?

just run your hand along the vac pipe and feel for air and also behind the gauge itself and make sure all connections are zip tied mate, not sure about n75 you would of noticed it before hand, prob wouldnt come up on vag com either mate

When your engine is off does the guage sit on 0psi? If it's sitting lower you have a duff guage (happened on my mates Evo). Also there should be an brass insert in the T-piece that goes to your boost guage, if that's not there you can sometimes get a strange reading.

i know mine didnt come with a brass bit and seems fine does need to get rid of buzz hence getting the brass insert in T piece!!

Whats this brass insert??

My boost gauge was "fluttering" and I only mean like a couple of mill when the car was on choke, but one it settled to normal rpm it was fine.

Checked & replaced the std hoses around the DV last night and that seems to have rectified the "fluttering"...

As for the Oil gauge, still no reading, double checked all of the wiring, and seems fine, checked all the earths and they're fine.

Only thing that I had done different to your guide Moff was the sender earth I'd put straight to the battery, have now moved that to engine bay earth, but have yet to test.

Will report back once I've done my journey to work...

Will have to wait for the next Kent Meet (an hope that Gaz or Smooth are there)

Altho it's going into TMC for it's 70k soon, so will have a word with Ben, and see if he can have a look...

Know what you mean about scar's, look like I've done 10 rounds with a pi55ed off cat.

adam i took my black to the main frame of the car under the battery, i will look at my guide see if i can notice anything?? which bit did you take the power from? does it light up? and are you giving the car a good 15mins for it to register a temp?

Power is from the switched 12v under the steering wheel (did have it connected to the light switch to start with)

Displays light up, just the temp gauge not registering anything!

I took it for an hour drive before work (def warmed up ;) ), and still didn't even move.

One of the guys at work suggested that the green wire (to sender) should be show 12v, and the sender then has tempreature resistor in it that restricts the earth for the sender which give the gauge its reading, but the green wire is not showing ANY voltage at all...

I am a little confused as to why the sender & the gauge both have earths (in fact the gauge has 2 earths, but one is for the backlight)
