Yeah the Hamerite does take a while to dry, you need to leave it a week before you apply the stickers and laquer to them.

Painting is really easy, as everyone says it's in the prep. I used a very aberisave wet n' dry sand paper to get most of the paint off an dthen used a very fine paper to finished.

I then de-greased and washed with warm water. Got the heat gun on to dry all the water and heat up the metal a bit. I then applied 6-8 coats of paint making sure I got every square cm at 15min intervalls and then left for a week before I applied the Brembo stickers and laquer.

Very easy to do just time consuming but very pleasing results. I used about a can and a half of Hamerite from Halfords. Think it was £6.99 per can.

I did think about painting them black, silver or yellow but decided to go with the red in the end.

Thanks dude

Yeah rears will be the same as the fronts, going to give it a go when the rain stops.
I'll be posting up some pics when i get it done, the fronts are looking spanking and the rears are really letting the car down

do we need to organise some brembo stickers as a group?
i can see a few people will be needing them if not now soon...

scotty, for changing colour id say at the very least you would need to remove the calipers / pads /bolts. should be too difficult though.
you going yellow?

Would'nt useing a normal lacquer cause it to peal again with the temperature? Going to do mine this weekend with hycote high temperature lacquer and see how that works.
