Which CTR forum has this been mentioned on?
...your car certainly is modded, sounds a beast... got any pics?
I have a sneaking suspicion that the more than expected difference in the 2 CTR lap times was due to the change of stig part way through TG's life.
It was. And they did another hot hatch feature some time later and the CTR was something silly like 0.2 seconds quicker around the track than the LCR. Top Gear don't like the LCR though for some reason.
No, I was thinking of the Top Gear episode when they had a few different Hot Hatches in one of their features. They showed a couple of them on the track and then referred to a mini lap times chart they had, which also listed cars like the LCR. But thanks for that link, I've not seen that in a while
has any1 ever fitted a diff to a CTR or LCR??if so any good?
Just as side note - in the dry the CTR has massive, massive traction from it's front tyres assuming it still has the factory spec Bridgestones - which are a dry weather tyre - which helps the 0-60, 1/4 times etc quite a fair chunk.
Dan
Tyres the LCR and FR TDI people use are Michelin GDS'3 and Toyo's T1-R's i would say. I have heard amazing things about Dunlop Sport Maxx and SP9000's.don't know about the LCR but theres plenty of peeps fit the lsd to the civic type r....the JDM civic type r comes with it as standard, as does the integra dc5....but the edm civic type r doesn't unfortunately.....it's about 550quid plus fitting I beleive....
I raced a integra dc5 at the same meet as the vids of me and the s3 and I matched it for speed down to the cone but going round the cone and putting the power down he really had the edge, kind of put this down to the lsd....makes a big difference.
I got rid of the bridgstone potenza 040's on my ctr farily quickjley tbh....I thought they were pretty poor, tramlined like a bitch and road noise was a nightmare.....I have some vredesteins and the grip is no different, apparently the Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's are the best tyre for the ctr, don't know if any of you lcr boys have those....????
NO CHANCE!!!
Sorry Guys but there's no way your beating a CTR in a LC (assuming its standard or even if it has a remap) or a Derv with a map.
Sorry but unless the driver of the CTR gets a yellow bus to school then you will not beat them! 2 of my mates have them and I can only JUST beat him to the 90 mark after that they both pull bout car and a half and then we sit together till bout 150mph.
Sorry to bust your bubble but it wont happen - Race someone with a CTR that can drive! - Then you'll see!

BEN CTR:
Had both.... Had my CTR for 3 years and 108,000 miles... Great car, haven't got a bad word to say about it really. My CTR had alot of hammer and was bullet proof really, considering...LOL Especially the gearbox and engine... In standard form, my CTR was slightly quicker in a straight line (ran a 14.5 @ 97mph in it STANDARD). But now remapped the LCR is quicker, obviously. But not a MASSIVE amount..
In a nutshell, they are two different cars. Ones more fun than the other (CTR). But the LCR is alot better to drive in comfort... Depends what you want really... Do miss my CTR a bit though, have to say. Wish i could have both really...
...Is that enough facts for you!? This was written by a bloke who has owned a CTR, LCR and remapped LCR...
