Ahh yes , you got the leon last year. I didnt recognise the debadged boot!!

Believe it or not manchester/brum/swansea have worse car theft statistics than over here, probably as there is a larger population between them. there wouldnt be many thefts from the likes of portaferry etc!!

psssst its only photoshop lol

portaferry car crime never lol portadown id believe ya lol

my car got keyed the other night maybe if i had a better alarm some knee caps would be smashed ;) luckily i work in body shop and it was sprayed same day :D

I had intellistart on my Clifford Ace 7500 system fitted to my corrado, its a brittiant system and the car stays locked when its running, if you open the car and even touch the pedals without putting the key in the engine stops. Also i had blackjaxx, there is no way you could nick it without knowing the code. I'd never fit one to my Leon, technology has changed since intelli start came out.

Like Icecavern says says if its installed properly 1st the alarm will go off causing it to shut down, if that fails 2nd the steering look will kick in, if that fails 3rd touching the brake will cause it to shut down. So to 'knick' a car while the intellistart is running you would have to hot wire it which would really be the same way if they would have to 'knick' it with no intellistart and no keys.

So i think intellistarts are safe and also i think that having them not in 'noddy mode' is ok because if started in gear it'll just stall three times. Only in the event of leaving the handbreak off would it go wondering, but surly if the handbreak wasnt on it would have already left your drive!!!!

the intellistart has to be set to manual or auto transmittion, if you set it to auto on a manual box and try and start the gar with it in gear, it will blow your starter motor as the crank time will burn it out.

Dont know how mines set up then as it aint done that to mine!

I was just asked if i wanted to be able to start it everytime (which i did) or weather i wanted to have to activate the intellistart prior to shutting the car down.

This is called 'noddy mode' i believe

No it's called the correct way to instal it. Any installer that is happy to install intellistart to think it's an Auto rather than a manual shouldn't be installing them IMO.

an manual car it should be actviated prior to turning the car off, also that way if the alarm is trigger the intelli start function is cancelled and the car wont remote start.

But mine still triggers it so cut out and mines set to start anytime i push the button.

Only bit about the whole intellistart thing i dont like is having my LCR immobilisor for the feul pump continuiosly unarmed by sticking it to the ignition barrel. But the Clifford does immobilise the starter motor though!
