Quick detailing tips/tricks

As its the GTI Spring Festival on Sunday, i'm obviously looking to get my car cleaned for the event, however i'm going to have bug splats on my car before arriving at the event from the journey up to the pod.

I was wondering what tips/tricks anyone can provide to aid me in romoving all the critters and any other quick detailing tricks to keep the car clean during the event?

Things like small bottles of water spray to remove patches of grime, anything like that

you can get quick detailer spray with you use along with a microfibre mate, will take it all off

Cling film on your front bumper!

Agree with the quik detailer tho, its good at removing dust/fingerprints etc.

Can you guys both vouch individually for these. I suppose each one has its own plus points.

i aint used the quick detailer stuff mate, but have poorboys shampoo, sealant and wax, all are so easy tp use and cheap cant go wrong

What finish are you looking to maintain?

On Carnaubas, I 'd go with the Sonus Carnauba Spritz, the best QD for maintaining waxes IMHO.

One product that is very popular at the moment also for general QD'ing is Chemical Guys Synthetic QD Ideal for shows as it is Anti Static so really helps stop dust settling.

Leaves a very slick finish.

Ovioulsy 99% of my car is going to be clean before i drive to the show, but while i'm on my way i'm inevitably going to pick up some bug splats and grime so just looking for something to remove them.

Probably not the most trendy up to date product on the market but always done me proud and I've been happy with the results when used with a couple of good microfibre cloths.

I used the meguiars in direct sun saturday (not really advised but was fine) working one panel at a time, piece of cake to use. Did the whole car in under 30 mins and it looked stunning (bar my minor swirling added by the dealer previously )

As with most of these I suspect you can spray it on almost any surface excluding the front windscreen so overspray isn't an issue.

Plump for one of the above and give it a go

I washed my car tonight. I then sprayed it all over with a 50/50 mix of Final Touch and mineral water (85p for 5litres stuff). It came up beautifully with the drying cloth followed by a quick buff. By far the easiest result I've had on drying. Separately, I've also noticed the water beading on Megs Final Touch is incredible.

I could do with getting a product that will remove the residue of bug splats. A wash can get the majority of the stuff off but there is always little grimey bits left on the bonnet.
