As its the GTI Spring Festival on Sunday, i'm obviously looking to get my car cleaned for the event, however i'm going to have bug splats on my car before arriving at the event from the journey up to the pod.

I was wondering what tips/tricks anyone can provide to aid me in romoving all the critters and any other quick detailing tricks to keep the car clean during the event?

Things like small bottles of water spray to remove patches of grime, anything like that

Many thanks

This is what the site says about the poorboys spray and wipe....

This innovative water-based product features an advanced blend of emulsifiers, surfactants and oils, which enables you to wash your car without the need for buckets or a hose. As the name suggests, you simply spray and wipe! Bridging the gap between traditional shampoos and quick detailing sprays, the high lubricity of this product helps to protect underlying surfaces as you wipe them clean, minimising the chances of adding fine scratches. However, it is important to note that this product is only designed to remove light accumulations of dirt and grime between normal washes - it is not a replacement for traditional shampoos, and you would be unwise to use it on a really dirty car. To further minimise the risk of inflicting fine scratches when cleaning, we recommend using Poorboy's Spray & Wipe in conjunction with a deep pile microfibre towel, such as Poorboy's Mega Plush Towel. Although effective on dirt and grime, this product is gentle on all exterior surfaces, and will not strip or degrade existing wax or sealant protection. The high lubricity of Poorboy's Spray & Wipe also makes it ideal for use as a lubricant when using a clay bar - under these circumstances it may be safely used with a short pile microfibre towel, such as Poorboy's Waffle Weave Towel

What finish are you looking to maintain?

On Carnaubas, I 'd go with the Sonus Carnauba Spritz, the best QD for maintaining waxes IMHO.

One product that is very popular at the moment also for general QD'ing is Chemical Guys Synthetic QD Ideal for shows as it is Anti Static so really helps stop dust settling.

Leaves a very slick finish.

Ovioulsy 99% of my car is going to be clean before i drive to the show, but while i'm on my way i'm inevitably going to pick up some bug splats and grime so just looking for something to remove them.

Thanks for the replies guys, gives me a lot to think about

I used the meguiars in direct sun saturday (not really advised but was fine) working one panel at a time, piece of cake to use. Did the whole car in under 30 mins and it looked stunning (bar my minor swirling added by the dealer previously :( )

As with most of these I suspect you can spray it on almost any surface excluding the front windscreen so overspray isn't an issue.

Plump for one of the above and give it a go ;)

I washed my car tonight. I then sprayed it all over with a 50/50 mix of Final Touch and mineral water (85p for 5litres stuff). It came up beautifully with the drying cloth followed by a quick buff. By far the easiest result I've had on drying. [B)] Separately, I've also noticed the water beading on Megs Final Touch is incredible.

I could do with getting a product that will remove the residue of bug splats. A wash can get the majority of the stuff off but there is always little grimey bits left on the bonnet.
