its a difficult one, i test drove a bmw 335D at the weekend.

It was very fast, but then, i missed my power band, my peak torque is at 5500 on a 1.8T, so thats very good, many 1.8T's drop off 4k onwards, same as the TDi;s do.

Mapped PD160 would steam past a 02 plate Leon Cupra im afraid. a std one would prob be slighlty pushing you along.

I still rather petrols, no worry with clutches, "smoke" and cant stand the noise diesels make tbh.

Lads I have just bought a Leon 1.8T Cupra 02 plate, I know most of you drive LCR’s but having driven a 1.2 Clio for the last 3 years I am finding the Leon Extremely powerful.

The problem I have is my mate has just went out and bought an Ibiza 1.9 TDi Cupra 3d:headhurt: the BHP is lower but the torque is rediculas at 330Nm. Is this a faster car? I don’t mean 0-60 but throughout the gears?

We are both considering REMAPS and I assume the diesel will gain more from it.

im in the same boat mate, i had a 1.2 clio aswell. sooooooooooo much better

Yeah but im finding the fuel economy hard to come to terms with:cry:

As stupid as it sounds, you get used to it. I'm lucky that my last few cars have hardly been frugal. But you soon adjust to your new monthly expenditure.

Sadly petrol powered fun comes at a cost :(
