My last few cars haven't exactly been light on fuel (2.0 Focus modified to 160bhp and then Toyota Celica) so it wasn't a huge jump for me luckily. Usually use £30-35 a week and do 150 miles during the week and then it varies at the weekend but try to get the Mrs' to drive if poss :)

I average 27MPG most days. That's with a bit of rush hour traffic, then about 10 miles of motorway and A road driving, then a bit more rush hour traffic.

But on Wed there was a big holdup on the motorway and I literally crawled along, stop start most of the way until off the motorway, and I averaged 22MPG I think, so not the end of the world, but not great reading.

That would be enough to reduce me to tears.

Actually... why don't you get on a bike and ride? You'd be the fastest thing on the road!

Im do like to mountain bike...

I have meant to do it every summer, but never got round to it... too cold at the moment :gay: plus there's loads of hills, not too keen on filling my lungs puffing up them with dirty diesel fumes

Maybe in the summer.

Is that right, a remapped TDI in LCR territory?:-o Have diesels really come that far in technology?! Makes me glad I've bought an oil burner now! Can't say I've really had a play against anything big though. Just the usual chavs in their Saxo vtr/vts's.

Leading where?? Certainly not up the strip @ pod, you got the reactions of a 90 year old granny off the line, you may have one the run by 100th of a second but i made it across the line first....plus you stripped the back of the damn car out....i was fully loaded. So if we equate the 40 odd kg you saved by taking all that out, there is your 100th sec, so in my eyes, we were evens buddy!!! lol

At the end of the day, you should forget the speed and think to yourself, how you have room in your leon for a whole whack of ikea furniture, some shopping from tescos and even a child seat, with the missus in the front! It happens to us all my friend, at least you are ready! suckered for your mate in that situation! Speed isn everything mate, its size that counts! Ask any woman!
