Anyone sick of me yet :) ?

I am looking at a component/amp bundle for car audio which I was kindly directed to by RobbyM.

The bundle in question was:
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/blaupunkt-velocity-component-p-5706.html
and coupled with this:
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/vwseat-speaker-adaptors-p-517.html

I'm nabbing the alpine 4x60watt HU from my old car. Will the above be all I need to set those speakers up in the front, and power a sub (also being ported) in the boot?

Thanks for your help!

I think 2awg is a bit overkill for 2 amps, especially when you consider the type of amps being thought of here.

I ran a DLS A5 off 4awg and before that had 3 smaller Alpine amps and had no troubles at all. Still maintained a nice, consistent voltage at all times.

I agree that 2awg wont hurt, as the bigger the better. But it's not essential and there is no way you'll see any gains over 4awg IMO. Not with amps like that Blaupunkt.

Well, I've also got the small old amp from the other car, which was powering the sub. Is it worth me keeping that to power the components, or to power the sub, or not bother?

Depending on which amp you have if it can run the componants, then amp them as running the comps of the amp will sound better than running the comps off the hu and amping the sub.

I don't disagree at all... if there is a chance that you'll want to rip your current amps out and upgrade to something much bigger in the future, get the biggest you can in there. But if you just want to upgrade the stock system to something nicer, there are more important things to put that money towards :)

It's an very small old cheapo amp I got from maplins (40 quid) can't remember the name, shiny silver - kinda like the effect on metal car mats, with blue fins for the heatsinks.

To be fair to it, it's be going for 6+ years and it's never had a problem powering the 12" sub at all, I don't even let it get any air flow :)

I honestly don't plan on upgrading anything else apart from maybe a change of HU at some point, and possibly replacement back speakers. But that would be the very most.

So, I should go ahead and order those that bundle the adapters and wiring then?

Or is there another option which may be slightly more expensive but would yield better sound (seperate component/amp perhaps). Though for £120 guess I shouldn't be complaining!

Thanks again for the help guys!

For the money, that setup is going to be seriously hard to beat! I'd go for it if I were in your shoes :)

Thanks robby!

I've got a pair of old shoes if you want. Brown, bit scuffed, but still pretty slick!

Cool!!! Will be ordering in a mo. The alpine should be cool without the ariel booster shouldn't it?
