Just about to book my custom rolling road remap. (well awaiting confirmation of free times)

Have a Leon FR+ TDI PD - which i guess is putting out the correct 150bhp.

Looking to get as much power as possible and they are mentioning i can expect between 196 - 208bhp, has anyone gone down this route ?

Am thinking as have some cash to spare poss induction kit also if one is avail and dump valve as have heard will help turbo last longer and improve pick-up ?

Is this the correct idea to follow.

dont forget the torque increases as well as bhp and i think the clutch on the fr tdi can only handle around 300lb ft max so see what sort of torque figures they reackon you wll get as well. if its more than 300lb ft then you will find after a while the clutch starts to slip.. save some money up for an uprated clutch..

Only just over the 1yr old so may be okay ? Will ask for their advice...

So far she's lookin good and i know i've already shown up a mates standard 1.8t Cupra ! LOL

Honest impression? Top work. Been going there for TDI remaps since 2003 and will be back there again very soon. Their old rollers were a little on the optimistic side, but you still got a nicely remapped car from them. Their new rollers are pretty much spot on as I've confirmed my power elsewhere three times. Have a go on Colin McRae on the Xbox, if it's still there. Try to beat some of my times.

Induction kit is only usefull if its located where it can get a good supply of cold air, otherwise it sucks in air heated by the engine and that makes the car loose power (i found this out years ago on my old 306 TD).
Dump valves do NOTHING for a diesel except make people look around to see whats making that daft noise. Waste of time and money as far as improvements are concerned.
190bhp is about right from a remap, so anything more could take it over the 200 bhp barrier if your carefull. Good luck with it, hope they do a good job.

Think I will scrap the dump valve idea as I cant see the point if it is not going to improve things...

Now i just need to work out how to upload some new pics of the car !

As stated above a dump valve is a waste of money on a diesel as it will do nothing for power or for looking after your turbo. People will just look and think your a tit for having one fitted to a diesel.
Don`t think you can go wrong with Jabba so you should definitely drive away with a smile on your face. Before you go though you need to decide weather you want all out power and start saving for a new clutch ( come on Chrisuk you know you want to post something ) or have the torque lowered and try and save your clutch. Personally i don`t see the point of having a remap if you don`t want lots of power plus if you drive your car hard the clutch isn`t going to last very long as its a weak point in the cars system. If you type clutch slip on the search icon you will have days of reading about it.

I dont have a bad word to say about jabba. Went there last week for my remap and it drives like a completly new car! the torque is amazing! Great service and very helpful.

As people have said, i know that the clutch on the tdi (same as my 1.8T) is only rated at about 300lb/f so it might be worth changing this either now, or in the near future.

Would prob see how long the current one lasts first before i go changing ?

It already turns heads where ever i take it, i just want the power to match the looks !

And to be able to finally shut up a little kid that thinks he is all that with his standard cupra ! I think the words 'smelly smoky tractor' was what he last called my car !

A remap should be a good start in showing him up.

I like the fact that Jabba have been mapping diesels (and 1.8Ts) almost as long as anybody out there, and with particular focus on the VAG sector. I don't drive there all the way from darkest Devon for nothing.

just reading this thread,Markgre maybe have a chat to Deano2104,he's had his LC TDI jabba'd he's got 212Bhp from it now,i took it out for a spin yesterday,and after having been smoked against him in my standard LC i can see why,the car felt so strong pulled like a fekin train in every gear,apart from the noise at start up you couldn't imagine it was a diesel car,am toying with a re-map myself,just waiting to get the BF exhaust from the GB then will be taking a trip down to Jabba

Is the 212BHP TDI, a standard PD150 with just a remap? If so, I a) very much doubt the peak power figure, and b) wouldn't think either the clutch or turbo will last particuarly long.

Good news!

As I understand, the main weak point in the standard clutch is low down torque, not high-end power. You should ask Jabba to give you a gentler torque curve, minimising low-end clutch slip... I don't understand the ins and outs of boost and fueling, but you should be able to increase the top end power as a result.

Alternatively, order an uprated friction disc from Allards, circa £200. I have one fitted, to my car with 154,000 miles, and it hasn't slipped once.
