Does a dump valve come as standard on the 1.8 20v turbo 180 cupra?

Its not a dump valve really as dump valves make dump (whoosh) noises. The 1.8t comes with a Bosch recirculating valve which recirculates the air instead of dumping it.

Otherwise known as a Diverter Valve. Depends who you speak to... but different ways of saying the same thing basically.

blow off valves make lots of noise, but your not supposed to run them on 1.8Ts
the forge split R combi valve is the closest thing you can fit

havn't had this one for a while!!
If you want noise and a knackered engine buy an after market atmospheric DV, if you want some noise and a healthy engine buy a re-cirv after market DV (such as forge 007p) and an induction kit. :)

Exactly what I've just done...(see sig)

Used to have an HKS BOV on my GT4, but now a little older, and looking for a more stealthy approach have opted for the 007P & a Raid MaxFlow.

which 1 gives you the flappin sound lol

If by flapping you mean wastegate chatter... then a broken turbo gives you that on a 1.8T engine.

If you mean the whooshing noise, either a recirculating valve and an induction kit... or Forges new Split-R valve.

From what i've read the 1.8T engines fault-code with they don't have a re-circ DV, so yes you'd get wooshing, and also Check-Engine-Light too....

Someone with either confirm or correct me i'm sure.

I have a 51 plate leon cupra and run a Forge 007 with a green panel filter. Get
quite a loud whoosh sound. Car goes so much better than with the standard
Bosch D.V and filter. A lot less "Laggy" than before.Money well spent :p

Guys Im looking at uprating the recirc valve, i was thinking of forge.

Can someone confirm whether or not the forge will make my car sound like a bus pulling into the stop, Ill be fitting it with a green panel filter too.

Cheers.

There is definitely a definite whoosh with ythe Forge 007p and Induction kit but its still quite suttle but I like it this way! Sounds better when you floor it and change up! or even just lift off! :D

As above... the Forge 007P is a recirculating valve so you will only hear a minor noise when the air is dumped back into the air box. It is not particularly audible from the outside of the car unless you're really trying to hear it.

The Forge Split-R is a part-recirculating and part-atmospheric valve. It recirculates just enough to stop the ECU from having a fit, but dumps enough to give you the noise you want too. This valve can also be 100% recirculating if you decide you don't want the noise anymore.
