Feel for you mate, I had an accident few weeks ago.
Soon as I got home I burst into tears cause I'd wrecked my car, just felt so miserable about it. But things will get better like. Just got to be thankful your still about...

Gutted! I feel for you as writing off a car isn't nice. At least there was no serious injury though and that is the main thing.

from the pictures it might look really bad but the bonnet all creased up and the bumper hanging off might make it just look worse.

by the looks of it, it will need new

bumper
bumper-mouldings/grills/fixings
windscreen
dashboard/airbags/airbag module
front pannel- fmic/radiator
repair the wings
headlamps
and new bonnet

if you want to keep the beast, exsplain to repair company you want to keep it on the road it could be done! we've repaired worse at my work. hope everything works out and its a long time till we see anouther thread like this!!!

chatting to spanny earlier it seems that its alot more than it looks.

the slam pannel has been pushed back, the engine had moved, hoses are in places they should be.

you can normally go by if the airbags went off its a write off.. as that as repair with out the airbags is about 5-8k.. add in the airbags and you are addng another 3K on for a dash.
parts are atcually cheep enough as i found out when repairing my car, but its labour that does it.

i paid out 2K on parts for my car and 1K on labour.. and this was mates rates. all agreed that should it have gone though the insurance it would have been written off.

Dan. looking at the pics it seems borderline.. work required on my black beastie when it got front/rear ended was similar apart from no airbag deployment?!?!?!?!?? so there hope yet, fella :) not a lot, but you never know... but glad you just 'walking wounded' as it were.. could have been oh, so much worse :(..

:)

looks like you have alot of mates on here to help you get you through this bad time. Looks like you are lucky to be alive it could have been alot more grim if there were cars in the other lanes or you hit one of the lorrys.
Your girlfrind and friends are the most important thing now and looking for a new car might make you feel a little better too.

looks to me from the pics that the pipes are only crushed back as the intercooller has been knocked back all the pipes can be reused if not disfiguered or split. but as you say it is only from the pics but i myself have repaired worse so i wouldnt say for certain it was written off! all depends where you go some garages accept bigger smashes.and some garages cant be bothered to get involved!

personally I wouldn't want it back, but it's not my call

when I spun my 1 year old Peugeot gti6 I hit a lamp post in the rear quarter, I was so adamant that I didn't want it back that I bent the drivers door up and the passenger door down so that it looked like the chassis was bent

but hey at least I was in the process of a banzai lift off over steer moment when I stacked it ;)

Thanks for all your support guys, i would love to have the car repaired, but would it drive the same again? and would i feel confident in the car again? Im not sure i would tbh. Was shuck up big time after it happened, but like everyone says, it could have been alot lot worse. If id have hit a truck, or gone over the central resevation and into on coming traffic, doesnt really bear thinking about :(

Got a bit of a sore neck but thats to be expected, sore nose where the airbag hit me i think but luckily i walked away remarkably un hurt.

When i went to see it today, was gutted, as some of you will know, it looked stunning on monday after i cleaned the **** out of it, and to see it in that state :(

I was also suprised that both wheels are all still straight, suspension seems ok, and all 4 tyres are still up. Just think that everything got pushed back on impact, the engine certanly has been :(

Will call the insurance tomorrow to see when the insurance assesor will be going out to lok at it.

airbags are so dangerous and if your not wearing a seat belt if the anitial impact dont kill you the airbag will! they deploy at about 200mph and burn at amzing temperatures!!!!!
