In the latest Top Gear magazine's list of current top hot hatches, only the Peugeot 307 came lower. Apparently the car's not special enough, things like the Ford Ka Sport came above it. I despair.

Fabia VRs finished 15th if I recall correctly.

The Sport Ka is a fantastic handling little thing, at the fast show last year on a 30 second lap of there handling course Russ Swift set the top 2 times with a cooper S and Sport Ka, the cooper S was 1.1 sec slower than the Ka. The next 2 best times were in the 32s range and also set with Sport Kas an Evo made it round in 34s and an Impreza WRX 1.3 seconds off it's pace.

The rest of the Ka isn't much but the handling of an Ibiza isn't anything special.

The KA never went over 40mph on that trial they took it around a go cart track not a real test of a good car if you ask me.

The Cupra in second from last in the Track & Race Cars Magazine hot hatch roundup for the year on track and last overall in what they would actualy buy, the only car slower was the polo GTi.

LMAO... I'm sure sometimes they make these up... you know dealers pay them to rate there cars higher so that they sell more of them...

quote "On the other hand, the Sport Ka, as its name implies, is rather more of a sports car, and a very worthy competitor to the MINI One and Cooper. You get the well-proven handling qualities of the tin-top Ka, improved with 16” wheels, 195x45 tyres, sorted suspension and the bigger 1.6i overhead cam motor. O-60 is about 9.5 seconds; not fantastic, but enough. It tops out at around 110, but with only 20mph per 1,000 rpm is happier under 100. And, with sharper handling than the Street Ka, yet still very decent ride quality, it’s a whole heap of fun. Eventually, of course, it understeers, but lift off a tad and you’re straight back on line without any back-end drama. So it’s safe as well."

If that could beet a 20v t around a race track I will stick my D*ck between my legs and cluck. I could take my turbo off and still beet it :cartman:

It only handles cos it's so slow ~94bhp from wot i can see, it couldn’t even pull you out of bed. Not saying they there Sh*t for wot they are there ok but never in the same league as a Ibiza Cupra 20v T

Oh in terms of straightline speed the 20vT will muller it - but in the twisties my money is on the KA. The handling isnt reallly down to the slow speed - but the the chassis design.

The cupra is not the best handling car in the world but a lot of that is to do with the amount of power it has got, but also it is not the worst, my point is over all the KA is no ware near as quick around a race track or on the streets as a cupra 20v T and I challenge any body to show me otherwise I would put my cupra against any sh*ty fork KA sports any day of the week, and i don’t need to ask where the smart money would be on that one

the KA's have a wide stance for their size, and their centre of gravity is very low hence good handling. but jesus Christ what the hell else has it got goin for it? the nice looks?, the powerful 1.6 engine? For the money a new Cupra costs, and the options you get with it(and yes the handling isn't A+) there is nothing that really touches it. Trust me i've been looking for other options in my price range for a new car and the only thing i found cheap but with the performance i want is the beeza Cupra, and it aint even the petrol one:whistle:
