Hi guys, I've tried a search but to no avail.

Anyone got any ideas as to how to get the casing/housing bit off a Mk4?
It's drving me insane!!! :confused: [:@] :cry:

well I tried the translation thing but no way for me! very odd. anyone else got any ideas? I don't want to get all the way thorugh to the wiring etc just past the plastic/galss frontage.

The only way I can see is taking the entire console frame apart from two screws in the top of the arch above the speedometer and pressure gauges etc and two screws beside the steering wheel when lowered. ARGH ^_^

never done anything with it mate, have to say I fancy putting some silver rings in so this info would be nice if you find out how

are you trying to remove the whole instrument cluster? I have the instructions on how to do this...if it helps i can email it to you so you can have a look

I actually managed to make a translation of the German text, but since I haven't done the job yet I shouldn't post it here. Any way, I'm installing these

in a couple'a'weeks time and will take some pictures to maybe help others.

Btw. I guess if one only wants to change the outer rings you can just force the old ones out (and break them..) and replace with new ones? Or maybe the ebay-ones are not Seat's (like the yellow ones in my TDI Sport) but those that are inserted right on top of the dials?
