Well......i just cant drive a paxo, feet are to big and legs are to long. Press all three peddles at once for bobs sake :lol:

People say paxos are great handling cars and i belive them. But i think they install to much confidence into the driver, seen so many that have lost the back end resulting in the car ending up in a field or wall.

Yeah, I would agree that Saxo's do have a major image problem, due of course to the number of knuckle draggers who flock to them, but there are some fantastic, performance based/track examples.

I'm not surprised that a lot of young drivers jump into them straight from passing their test, and stuff them into the first tree they come to, as the handling can be a bit lively for the inexperienced.

If you are experienced enough to exploit them, great fun!

Cant argue with people saying that the quality may be a bit suspect though, although I had 4 over a 7 year period and cant remember a serious fault with any of them, members of my family have owned BMW's and saabs etc and had nightmares with them, so you pay your money and take your choice I suppose.

They do look a rite mess when they'v been hit hard, the worst ones seem to be clio's, we'v had a diesel, a 172, and a 1.2 in work lately that back end has flicked round on them and caused loss of control.

Not saying its the cars, driver error is also a big cause. It can be useful sometimes to get the back end out, but if its unpredictable, say goodbye!!

i had a saxo a month after passing i put into a wall, just by jenks house :) then they rebuilt it so after suffering issues with pressing 3 pedals at once, cramp, and headaches from the crazy colour scheme ( multicoloured seat belts and a yellow gearknob) my mate drove into the back of it in a metro turbo, wrote the saxo off, metro needed a headlight :blink:

morale of the story dont buy a saxo buy either a metro for strength or a beeza for coolness [B)]

well i hate clio's, but they're prone to spinning out in a twisty road, i was following my mate who's got a 1.2 clio:doh: round a twisty road a while ago and my beezer was solid all the way round, of course no back end movement (partly because he was going so slow- 1.2!) but any way his back end was all over the place, nearly lost it a few times, fair enough he's an ok driver, but the stupid rear bumper thing that looks like a fat ass on the car doesn't help the back end out! where as the beezer's back wheels are so close to the rear that movement is next to nothing. of course the suspension plays a part too etc but still there naff cars. clio's are fine for my mum, and girls.

I find ppl comment on it as a bad car as it "seems" to be on the point of loosing grip at moderate speeds, but theres a serious amount needed to actually get the back to go i find, have a 1.4 ibiza on eibachs and gas shock and it handles better than me cupra does, the extra weight does have an effect on cornering, and as for powerbands etc, torque in mine peaks at 3200 onwards and peak power is at 5250RPM

my bad, talkin in relation to the ibiza, me buddy has a clio, 1.2 great little car but theres a fine line between goin round a bend and spontaneously loosing grip and ending up in a field, needless to say hes getting rid of it...

yeah well he's getting rid of it for a reason... maybe a new beezer owner? i would like to get the back end out on my beezer but its so different to the average road car, in that if it slides all four wheels slide, but its the suspension set up really.

yeah, theres up sides and downsides really but once you know how it will react in these circumstances you might get out of it in one piece!!! I find its very forgiving when it starts sliding though, just back off the accel and it'll come round again,

That's exactly what I cant do with mine, because if driving round a bend fast and all of a sudden back off the accelerator midway through a coroner, the weight shifts forwards and the car starts to "lift-off oversteer". Fun when your expecting it, not fun when you are not :drive1:

that ain't nice!! opposite lock and shoe it! if your ever messing about doin it safely try the same thing in a higher gear, shouldn't do it then...

Its not that bad really. It ONLY does it when pushing the car in second gear. Any faster it doesn't do it because I don't push my car and luck at higher speeds around corners, plus weight transfer isn't as significant to make the rear light enough to step out. So really only applies to wet/greasy roundabouts and really tight country roads.

occasionly whilst im going round a roundabout in the wet, i tend to drift over a lane or so if im in 2nd gear and it is fun, but would be good fun to mess about in a clio and get the back end out! my mate does it a lot, but he gets pee'd off when he wants to take a corner/roundabout quick and smoothly.

That's what I was thinking as well. Understeer isn't fun tho, its just crap and sometimes scary as you see the curb getting closer and closer and the car still not steering,lol.

its crap iff you've got super t's to protect or your multispoke's! but it can be fun iff the roundabout is hugley wide! i reckon iff the handbrake cable was tight enough, (and you didn't mind potentially ruining your car) then our beezer's could prob get there rear end ent with a few jabs of the handbrake! might be completely wrong and i'm not one to try it. by the way how's your maths coming along czechy!
