na have to be revved quite a bit however so more responsive...debatable.
hmmm diesel vs petrol..............4000rpm, clunk, gear change.....
not saying that there would be alot in it but standard vs standard initially the 206 would be ahead

... but if doesn't have the torque to pull it along, power is not much use.
Going off the quotes above, my car IS faster even from a standing start. I recorded a 0>60 of 7.5 before the remap, and got it to 7 seconds dead with the map.

Lol not this again
torque will win
I was actually being sarcastic hence i said "Lol not this again". I know what your saying and I do agree.
thats rubbish.
Sorry, but torque is only half of the story. Don't let the feeling of it fool you. (revs being the other half)
there's about 1000 variables in this - weight/driver skill/handling/grip/standing start vs rolling etc etc./ condition of car/ temperature of engine/drag coefficient the list goes on down to air pressure of tyres!
the 150 diesel is nippy because (surprise surprise) its a 150bhp car.

But this post always was about petrol vs diesel (TDI Vs GTI) so surely you knew what to expect?my bad.
Just get so tired of these...
everyday theres about 3 posts that degenerate from a xyz into "well a diesel has more torque so its faster" and I just wanted to add my 2p.
I guess you are sick of seeing it aswell then
