Hi,

I just ordered my Leon Cupra and will have it in my hands on January 25th. Now as I understand it has a detuned S3 motor i.e. K04 turbo and strengthen engine internals which leaves tuning the way to go. Does anyone have an idea if 300hp will be feasible with just an ecu upgrade or will a downpipe be needed as well? Also has anyone heard if REVO or GIAC will come out with the program in the next month or so? What has the Audi S3 crowd done with this engine? Thanks....

what part of the world are you from?

welcome to SCN :wave:
Hi..... I am from Greece. This is a great site and glad to see other Leon owners... I just ordered my Leon Cupra and I am already eager to mod it :) ... When I first saw pictures of the new Leon it did not interest me but when I went up and close and actually sat inside I thought here is a car that I would think about buying. When I heard the specifications on the cupra including the detuned S3 motor etc... I knew that for 29,000 euro's I had a car that should easily be tuned for 300bhp without touching the internals. Just a downpipe and ECU with the new Forge twin intercooler to keep things cool. :)

those mods are exactly what you want, as well as possibly an air intake like the neuspeed p-flo (if you like the noise!)
Other things include coilvers and anti roll bars.

all very much worth it I think :D

Good idea on the intake. I will look at adding the cold air attachment to the p-flo for my car. Here is a quote on the S3 engine that pertains to the cupra as well just that the cupra is slight detuned as I understand :
===============================
Fundamentally stronger: the engine block

Compared with its starting version with an output of 147 kW (200 bhp), the 195 kW (265 bhp) engine of the S3 fundamentally represents another evolutionary leap. Pistons with stronger pins and new rings as well as reinforced connecting rods with new bearings transmit the powerful forces to the crankshaft. The cylinder block has been reinforced at the main-bearing pedestals and the main-bearing cap.

The cylinder head consists of a new, extra-lightweight aluminium-silicon alloy that exhibits high temperature resistance and strength.

The exhaust camshaft timing and the high-pressure injectors with increased cross-section have been adjusted to accommodate the increased power output.

The new turbocharger has a larger turbine and compression rotor than the basic unit. Its cast steel casing – produced as a single piece including the manifold – withstands exhaust gas temperatures of up to 1,050 degrees. The turbocharger generates a boost pressure of 1.2 bar instead of 0.9 bar on the starting version.
==========================

I love the bodykits that are out there but another poster told me the SEAT option bodykit is 2500 pounds which is too much for me now. Instead I think for now I will have the JE sideskirts and rear-top spoiler along with a de-badge black grill as my exterior mods.

Once I drive the car I will see if I will need the H&R anti-roll bar but I would like to get a front brace bar when someone makes them.....

So to sum it up:

Downpipe

Hi-flow 200cell cat

ECU upgrade - probably REVO as SEAT Greece sells the program through their dealership.

p-flo intake with cold air attachment

I am sure I will come up with more :)

The car definatly needs lowering, that should be the first mod.

Ive also got a new lower engine mount from powerflex or neuspeed, which is supposed to reduce wheel hop.
