this is my modified airbox, you could do the same cold air feed. mine is 102mm but i suspect u would need an 80mm feed to fit onto ur piper x viper!

No dis-respect..But you bought the wrong induction system.

wats the "right" induction kit?!

i know this wasnt aimed at me m8, but different ppl want differnt things from an air filter...

i wanted best performance and vfm, hence i did a modified airbox!

some ppl want noise so go for an open induction kit

and some ppl want noise and performance so go for dynatwist, ram air etc etc!

there is no "right" answer! ;)

You payed more money, for an imitation.

Viper design was taken from the BMC CDA. A true, performance filter. Found on alot of top spec race cars.

Its around £100 cheaper, and does the job properly. More than anything, the viper just looks good. You'l get nice gains from it. But it wouldnt have been my choice.

Think BMC kits and Dynatwist are the flavour on here mate.

As far as I know the Viper is a very good system indeed, mate of mine has had excellent results with one on his 306 GTi-6.

Looks cool as well...... don't you get some of the tubing james has used with the kit? Looks like a good solution but a bit of a bodged fit round the battery

Are there really that good a gains to be had with an induction kit on a turbo'd car? Other than noise obviously.

This is true..but since he went for a carbon fibre filter. I would have gone for the CDA.

The only reason why i choose viper, is because i had it on my golf tdi. It improves the trottle response alot and better acceleration.[B)]

do a search m8, i did a big thread with logs to prove before and after increase! ;)

no u dont need to remove the light cap cover

no holes to drill in grill or at all!

i have a battery relocation bracket from "Feel" on here which enable a 102mm feed to fit around the battery otherwise u will have to go for a 80mm size pipe (which as said i believe came with ur viper?!) just use that! :)

i dont want to argu here, but how do u know the viper was based on the BMC?!

the BMC is very good, it was either that or the moddified airbox for me! ;)

also i thought the viper was £250 and the BMC is £200 for us LCR boys! so only £50 difference! [B)]

bodged fit?! (i have used battery relocation brackets from "Feel" on here! ;))

IMHO opinion it looks great! (pics dont do it justice!) everyone who sees it is impressed!

as for gains to be had... i did before and after logs on the same road with the same ambient temp and got a 4% gain from memmory!

so for vfm is good!

i suck in over 200g/s all day long, best peak of 210g/s :D
