I know it has been don 100 times before but I would like your opinions on best air intakes I have the green cotton but want something else with a bit of induction noise, all points of view welcome.

Look I am after points to view in regards to sound from induction kits,
I DON'T NEED TO BE TOLD TO USE THE SEARCH OPTION. As I already have done this and would like to collate opinions together for the best sounding induction kit on the market.

easy guys, this is a freindly forum:p . Bunnin was right, the first person to reply to FAQ's always says use the search, it common sense as some people don't realise it's there.
as for your question GAZJONES put a 60 quid universal cone filter on his FR that had a lot of induction noise he did post a Vid on here somewere, but i think i'm right in saying he swapped it back for he PD160 intake and Green Filter because it was a bit too noisy

get a BMC carbon intake or just a larger pipe into you air box, any system you still reiceive a sealed ram air effect.

DO NOT have a open filter!

yeah with the open cone what you gain in filter surface area you lose again due to it sucking in warm air from the engine bay, but what do i know i only drive an FR not one on those CUPRA thingys

Think the forge FMIC is almost double the thickness or the cupra one so that with be your best bet either that or start spendin silly money in IC spray jets and the like, thats the trouble when you upgrade to phase 2 software, other than engine mod have you done any to the astetics (spelling??) of the car

I have the cupra one and I havent seen one made by forge that will fit flush on the cupra, i have gone of the boil a bit with the moding cos cant get FMIC, TIP for cupra yet and i want them before i get a BFT for it, i want power first then i will do the looks ie window tint and black wheels and that would be it.

nice, i'm doing a few cheap mods like colour coding the side rubbing strips and get TT pedals, also painted my brakes but yours are red anyway on the cupra IIRC
i'm sure the forge one can be fiited to the cupra with minimal trimming off the front bumper,

With you already having the cupra theres no point gettin a forge FMIC, as the standard seat sport one is actually bigger and does the same job. In terms of induction i go for the green dynatwistt,BMC or green panel filter and pd160 intake.

the cone was actually only 25 quid lol and was awfull car didnt do anything till 3k just choked on the air was ok after that till the red line but was so loud! i think the modded airbox is as good as anything out there really with a grren pannel filter and gives little whoosh if engine isnt howling away

just pop a green filter in air box... easiest & cheapest unless you want more induction noise when you can make your airbox better i.e smoothing larger intake

at the end of the day a dynatwist or bmc kit is a sealed box with a intake pipe the only diffrenece with them and your airbox atm is the diffrent filter element, standard is paper and the green/bmc is cotton which allows same level of filteration but easier to suck through, and you can put the same element in your box for £35
then make/get larger 80mm intake pipe £20
and smooth free,

it fact the engine i think would find it easier to suck air in from the modded box than the induction kit.

this is a standard filter and a large induction filter.

Not sure on this one pal, seat cupra FMIC is tiny and there are a lot bigger one's on theh market, I have green pannel filer already in, and dont the the pd160 intake is any better than the one already on. But thanks all the same.
