I can't remember if you're on an aftermarket TIP or a std one?
dunno if this is of help.
I have a pressure pump(vacuum also) hand type jobbie, same as Forge use to check their products with.
You can apply pressure to the wastegate from N75 pipe connection for example and see how many psi/bar it takes for the actuator to move, and how easily the thing moves.
Its an easy test... typical pressure likely to be 7psi to 9psi I would guess on stock actuator on LCR.
Its showed problems up on mine (sticking wastegate flapper & sill high actuator pre-load for example)
If you have access to a pump of sorts with gauge its a test which will confirm the mechanics of it and leaks.
Did you check the pipe on the back of the turbo?

At least Vince had to spend at least 10 minutes resolving the issue so it was worth me driving all the way to Southam! There's no way SEAT opened the bonnet. I spoke to them afterwards and they were somewhat sheepish, but much as expected. So total price: £20 to fix, and not £2k as the SEAT dealers were first estimating for the blown turbo / knackered wastegate. Car is flying now, and just done a throttle body alignment on it and it is even better again.
Best bit of the day was the free breakfast with all the trimming from Mark, so cheers for that, and I'm now even happier I haven't specced the bucket seats.
