Anyone have one of these on their car? Anyone know anything about these?

Ive set up a fund for a Jabba re-map but @ £250 this P-torque re-map sounds too good to be true.

Looking for opionions would you get the cheaper option now or save for the jabba?

Guy reckons I can expect between 30-40bhp on top of my 180bhp for a cupra r:confused:

Cupra R is standard except from DV, iNDUCTION KIT & eXHAUST SYSTEM

most you'll get is 200-210

at the end of the day all you really get from jabba is a generic map.

maybe he thought you had 160 standard 30-40bhp gains

Standard cupra and Cupra R can only be mapped to the same bhp, that being 210bhp tops before changing a few parts like IC etc, I was looking at the P Torque map to, supposed to be pretty good

Dan Cupra R - You could wait until i get mine Rolling Roaded and then you can get an idea of what a standard Ibiza would come out with (obviously every car comes out a bit different) as i have a generic Jabba remap?

Its what I thought cos they are the same engines still except ecu. £250 seems a little too good.

I dont wanna go for something just for the sake of saving a few pennies unless I know im getting my monies worth.

But then again the guy has offered a full refund & to reset my ecu to original if not happy

It was the custom rolling road re-map I was looking at on Jabbas site, I just cant afford to shell out £500 for it just yet so have started putting money aside.

Is that not the same remap you have?

All these decisions!!!!

I see what you mean but you cant go wrong with Jabba! Mine is standard apart from a Forge007P and the remap and its like a rocket ;)

Oh right ok

The generic and custom are different! The generic is just like REVO and the custom is made to fit 'your' car so will probably get better results

IIRC a generic Jabba remap is £375?

I'd say get yours rolling roaded before going for a remap.

Personally, if I had a Cupra R, I wouldn't bother with re-mapping. These have been known to make 200bhp on standard mapping. A few years back a user on here called Dor had his RR'd and I think it made 202bhp. If that's the case, all you'll gain from a re-map is more torque.

If you do decide to have it done. Try and get a drive in a remapped one first.

Thats why I wanted the jabba custom rolling road re-map, everything done in one session.

Plus ive not had my car on the rollers yet...

A remapped R is a different beat to drive... 180lbft of torque to ~240lbft - a noticeable difference.

Don't get hung up on peak figures - it's the shape & area under the graph - and how the delivery is.

Custom.... no. it's just adjusted timing advance.

Most generic upload & go maps from jabba & p-torque will have low timing set up deliberatly....

An adjustable map from custom-code & revo (using either software or dongle) will enable you to do Timing advance adjustment.

For £250, if t sucks - it costs you nothing. The whole remapping market is saturated at the moment - and everyone is fighting over a shrinking market.

So basically all the same except on some your paying more for the name of the people that do it?

I'll put money on neither place writing the software. Most 'tuners' buy their files from various sources - then sell them on.

So they have to cover the costs of the tools, their time, the purchase cost of the file, any applicable licence, premises.

As said above, try and test drive one first (whatever company you decide to go to).

Before upgrading to K03S I was originally thinking of a remap. I test drove one and I hated it. It was great having the extra torque but it just went totallly flat at about 4500rpm. It felt very much like a diesel. I know not all remaps are the same but I found the standard mapping (156bhp) more enjoyable than the the remapped one I went in.

Try before you buy!

I got a revo'd cupra R and it depends on your driving style as to wether it would be worth it to you....

If you like reving the tatts of the car and driving it hard more often than not then you probably won't like a remap...

If you generally drive at an average pace but like to overtake stuff without having to change gear and rev it, then you'll probably like the remap...

I personally like the extra torque and low down grunt of the remap... On my average daily drive its all back roads and its much easier to drive quick when remaped, just have loads more pull coming out of corners... Makes everything alot less frantic....

As said it does feel like a diesel to drive.. I love the remap if only it carried on pulling to red line but then your getting into ko3s turbos and the like..
1 thing is for sure once upto the higher speeds of 110 - 120 and upwards (private road of course) I'm pretty sure the remap has made it slower and I can't hit the same top speed it used to while standard...

As your car has got a full exhaust system IMO get the custom remap.
I have got a Jabba custom remap on my mk3 and it has been faultless. 199.9bhp/309Nm on Jabba's rollers running 95 octane fuel and no other mods, but I haven't had this verified on other RR's yet.
