To be honest I doubt you will get the insurance for much less than that... Being 23, with 2/3 years no claims and a group 17/18 car = lots of insurance!

Have you tried directline / tesco etc they are usually competitive?

I got mine (new - 05) at 26 in a decent postcode for much less than that. Elephant.

Edit: 0NCB. Trying putting a woman (older) on the insurance as a named driver if you have one.

mate, try egg or directline, you can get a quote online, they were the best two when I tried!

Yep, bend over an prepare for ...................

When I first got my 2002 LCR standard in 2003 valued at 17K, I was 21 with zero no claims. I paid £2500 through Tesco's. I am now 24 with three years no claims. When I got my latest quote I was 23 with three years NCD and through Admiral am insured via a 10 month bonus accelerator for under £800. I have no points & never had a smash (touch wood, touch wood)

I have done my home work and when renewing I never take the first quote. I probably get nearly 10 quotes then decide. Basically I have been with three companies, Tesco's, Admiral & Elephant. These insurance companies have come in the cheapest for me over 3/4 years.

I have a 2003 Leon Cupra R with a remap, 22 years old with 2 years no claims, 3 points and 1 accident, i pay just over £1000 with elephant. Which i think is quite a good price. So do try them online to get a price.

Can't believe nobody has suggested 'confused.com'!

I'm with Admiral and into my 2nd year with them as they quoted the best on renewal. I've just turned 26, was 24 when I got the Cupra R from new (insurance then was about £700 I think). I pay just over £500 now. 5 years no claims and no points.

I'm also 23 with 3yrs no claims bonus. Insured fully comp with privilege for £770. So yes £1500 is a complete rip off! I have no claims or convictions in last 5 years tho.

A lot depends on area. Just as a comparison I'm in a fairly central Leeds postcode (bad for insurance) I Paid £630 this year with Greenlight, 25 3yrs NCB standard 210 LCR.

Paying 2500 for insurance is madness IMO unless you are super minted!

I'm not 100% sure how much my insurance is, but it's nowhere near £1500!!

I paid £850 for my modified Celica, which had cosmetic, handling and performance mods. I bought the LCR and it cost me £46 to change cars on the policy, which runs out in Feb so a good 5 months left.

I'm 23, 2 years NCB, a ban for SP50 and a non-fault accident on my licence. I'm hoping renewal will come in at around £900 FC.

I'm in exacly the same position as you, 23 with an LCR 210.

I'm paying £1500 myself. Only differance is I have a zero no-claims and have a history of points, and live in one of the worst postcodes in the country for car crime.

So i would say that quote is over priced for yourself.

Try http://www.bell.co.uk and maybe even go with the flexi plan and remove some the the crap from your policy.
