The thing with insurance is if you dont pay straight away in 1 payment you pay a hell of a lot more in interest charges if you opt for monthly. My monthly premiums added upto £170 more than my yearly premium[:@]

I pay around £850 yearly which isnt too bad i suppose as im only 23 with all mods declared:)

I'm with Adrian Flux, underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance, and I have just had my renewal come through, I have just turned 24, 6 years NCB and have been quoted £456.55 fully comp on my LCR.

No one has beaten it yet. Give em a call see what they can do.

The best bit of advice I could give you at this stage then, is actually ask each insurance company what their view on mods is.

While they may cover it, not all cover it like-for-like, so if you crash you get a standard part as a replacement. Also, some really don't like certain types of modifications, such as performance mods. Be honest with them and ask what their policy is and work out what's best for you.

I went with Greenlight as they are happy to cover all forms of mods. For instance, it's only around £30 to cover a remap :) I know other people have been quoted similar prices with Greenlight too. With Elephant, they wanted a small fortune!

Don't pick based on the cheapest price, as it may limit what you can do with your car ;)

i'm 32 with nearly seven years ncb (touch wood ) i went on confused.com last year, i was with the c.i.s with my ibiza and phoned up a few months prior to buying my lcr to test the water, imagine how shocked i was when they quoted me £1500, never mind quote me f***ing happy, quote me gobsmacked more like. the lowest quote for my lcr on confused.com was £390 but having weighed up a few pros and cons i settled for insurance at £490. ( legal costs in an accident, replacement car etc) i'll be doing the same this year again as i'd rather poke my eyes out with knitting needles:stick: than sit on the phone for hours telling the same things to umpteen different strangers from india who can't understand my scottish accent. by the way out of interest i tried the c.i.s online after i left and was quoted £490 sods law or what. i can only presume the woman who quoted me a grand and a half was pre-menstrual at the time and couldn't be arsed..com

Been ringing round all the insurers and filling in my details over and over again on all the web-sites.

Best I can get is £560 fully comp on the LCR. 28, 5 years NCB, no mods, protected no claims. Do you reckon I can get it any cheaper or does that sound reasonable?
