I just cant justify paying the hybrid price which is more than the garrets etc (infact even more) for somthing that isnt proven


Its not been proven in reliability terms but Sie's 273whp cannot be dismissed. Taking average FWD losses thats pushing beyond 300bhp without even being mapped!
Jacob also offers a warranty incase of reliability issues:)

Remember he did say his pricing would rise by 10% after this opportunity and ''£900'' to your door is a decent buy especially when you'll recoup £250ish from your current K04.

Does it even need mapping? Sie is not mapped at the moment and with revo you can play with your map with an SPS. It is probably better getting it mapped, but a neccessity? No i dont think it is! As to MAF, its doubtful you will need 1.

I take it, its a definite no from you then mate:) Can you be persuaded;) :D

just got home from pub (pissed lol) and jsut read over one page...


as scotty and mitch know from earlier private conversations today...

i am unfortunately out because i was under the impression that for bang on £1k i could get this fitted, map adjusted job done... well after speaking to jabba today this does not seam the case!

would need another FULL remap (£400 odd) and as i only do things properly i would end up buying the green injectors (£230 fitted at jabba or £150 from ebay apparently) and then i would more than likely go for the the JBS exhaust manifold as well....


this lot would be about £2k easily!


and therefore the goalposts have changed a lot!


therefore im out! :(


personally i will enjoy my car for as long as possible and then move on to something such as e46 M3 CSL or equivilent... so the less money io loose now the better! ;)

IHI Vf34 on its own about £1000 from Jabba, cheaper if imported. But a little bird told me once Jabba's IHI aren't standard :shrug:

they are clocked to rotate the compressor housing and the wastegate actuator bracket is redrilled to reposition it.

Otherwise its stock

Why Bill, do their current manifolds have a bad name for quality.:shrug:


They dont have a good name from what I've heard no.
Pagparts usually get advised over ATP every day of the week... but thats not the K04 mani, but the regular K03 one.
Stories of ATP quality make me shudder. (variable to say the least)

Well James and Mitchy its a great idea and i think once its proven its reliability it will be an awesome idea and perhaps people then could justify the price but i have decided i am out 100% i may buy a Garret whilst i am in the states and send it back to UK via my unlce who lives out there.

Well its so far:

3k for garret eliminator
2k for this hybrid
4k for ihi
7-10k for jbs upgrade (but that includes diff etc)

BUT ive been told

Garrets are not very well made and dont fit
hybriod is un proven
IHI seems to have few reliability issues (with higher powered motors tho) plus its expensive
jbs seem to controdict everyone else in what they say

so thats why i am waiting there is no harm in waiting i am saving my money then one day if and when my turbo goes i will prob go bigger turbo then

finish it off (ice/interior) and then be done!


dont waste anymore money!


thats the point of view im taking now! im just uprgrading my brakes next and thats it, finished!

then when im board of my car il move forward!

Yes bill but its get what you pay for. I can pretty much say when my k04 manifold comes off it will have cracks in it left/right and centre. Is it affecting the performance of my car? I dont think it is!

The ATP mani will obviously flow better than the stock mani but if it does crack is it going to cause me dramas and then affect the performance of the car? Probably not?

Then the next step up is the Jabba IHI manifold if indeed it can be catered to fit the K04 but again ive heard of the IHI manifold cracking:shrug:

Thats raised the pricing from 300 to 550.

Then the next step up is your manifold along with JBS's manifold and then the pricing goes through the roof.

The whole point in us going hybrid K04 is to save money, the manifold is not a neccessity but we probably will upgrade. There is no point in us trying to save money on the turbo front if we are going to blow the same again on the manifold. Whats the point? Just go full hog IHI if your going to do that:)

Reading through your posts the IHI on safe boost levels is good for 320-330bhp. This k04 hybrid wont be far off of that (Prob about 315ish?)
So the pricing is 1/3 of that for IHI.

The sensible option in my opinion is this K04, the less money spent, the better;) It means you dont lose as much when you come to selling. I would rather lose £1500 on this K04 than £4500 on IHI.

£900 for turbo to your door
£475 for Jabba remap
£150 on either 440cc or Maf/FPR
Manifold (optional) ATP £300ish
Fitting £200

So yes about £2000 all in.

- The money you get from your K04 turbo and mani (£250-350)

So about £1700 all in if you go the full hog

Manifold and remapping are optional! They can be done at later dates like Sie is doing!

At the moment all you need is the £900 + Fuelling £150 + Fitting? £150-200

£1250ish is what this is going to cost to get set up just now minus the sale of your current K04 so £1000 all in!

£1000 and your car will be pushing beyond the 300 mark:) Manifold and mapping for me will be done at a later date:)

Leave this to a later date, the pricing is going up 10% so that will take the turbo to £1000 before shipment and import charges meaning this turbo in a couple of months time may be priced at around £1250 as opposed to the £900 you can get it for now!

Ive not emailed Jacob yet but at the minute it is only me and wild willy in the frame for this:) Ill email him tonight:D

If im going to do it i wnat the jbs equal length mani so theres another £500.
The thing is all the turbos are around 1k its just the extra bits taht cost more so im thinking if im going to do it im going to get bits in at a time as thats the main difference

JBS equal length mani is about £1150 mate and needs a custom downpipe to suit. (This is IHI pricing)

I cant see the K04 being much cheaper tbh as it will have to go through the same manufacturing process as that is what no doubt bumps the price up!

Manifold/remap can be done at a later date is what i am trying to say! I will no doubt in time get the manifold changed along with a new map but ill leave that for later.

Yes your right, the turbos are all priced very closely, but not all use stock mani/downpipe!

Remember insurance issues aswell? GTRS is going to add a great whack onto your premium. Is a K04 going to do the same;) :D
