$915 = £490 approx

He will rebuild your turbo to his specification, with all new parts to make the turbo ''new'' again. This will include Port/polish and thermal coating!

Delivery charge of $85 to send back and probably about £50 to send adding approx £100 on top of the £490 price above.

It is highly unlikely that it should be subject to import tax as its your property to begin with, you are just sending it to him for servicing and he is sending it back!

You just need to source a spare K04 to be able to do this or you could just fork out for a complete new 1 at $15-1600

mitchy... this seams like the best option imo...

i dont mind taking my turbo off and not having a car for 2 weeks or so!

so if i did that, the turbo would cost me £550 delivered approx

that sounds good to me!

tho is it hard to take the turbo off? lol (be good if i could do it myself!)

or i could look for a shagged one, written off LCR etc.

ps. i have added u to my msn to tell u about an idea i had...

Probably more like £600 mate by the time you send it to him and he sends it back!

I go another email from him saying not to send in blown turbos for rebuild, it has to be in good condition! If it is not he will charge extra

true, for got about the cost of sending to him lol.

so say £600.

tho im not too sure how he can say dont send a ****ed turbo as i thought all the internals of the turbo were being changed and the case inside was being skimmed ett... so as long as the turbo housing is ok surely it doesn't matter if the internals are fcuked?!

"Carl,

Should be around Christmas time before they are released.

Thanks!"

The above is a reply from ATP Turbo when i asked about the availability of manifolds to fit our cars. Sounds promising. Although not necessary, the manifold must be removed when changing the turbo to allow access to the oil and water lines. It would be rude not to upgrade at the same time.

I think he uses the standard internals for his other hybrid rebuilds thus saving him money.
I can't see why if we buy new turbo's off him he can't say that the turbo's were supplied to him by us and all he did was modify them, alas saving us the import duty.

I dont think he wants to do anything dodgy as he's already received a warning.

Reference a new MAF housing....Does that mean we will need to change Air filter on 1 side and Turbo inlet pipe on the other? Or are the openings still the same size? What is the difference in upgrading it then.

I need my car so i think im going to have to fork out for a complete new 1.

Guys i said i would have answers to him by wednesday for final numbers and names/email adresses.

How do we go about putting this up as a group buy thread as i know there are quite strict rules! All the details are in this thread, i just need confirmation on who still wants to go ahead with it to pass on the details to jacob, you can then individually contact him reference payment and what option you want? (either send him a used k04 or a complete new 1)

He did say he would want a 50% deposit before production and then 50% when he has finished and about to send!

I need answers by wednesday folks:)

I probably wont be online again now until tomorrow evening, i may get 10 mins tonight if i have time! :)

Well it doesnt look like this is going to attract 6 people so the price is $1600 per turbo. (2-5unit price)

$1600 + $85 shipping = £900 approx with exchange rates!

Then import tax on this side, ive never imported before but imagine it would be at the base 17.5%??

So £900 (less shipping) = £850ish + import tax calculated at 17.5% = £1000 approx for the turbo delivered to your door

OR

Option 2...

Send him a used k04 for him to modify and rebuild to his specification and he will charge $915 for it (Although this was the price he quoted for 6 people so it might be slightly more expensive as we dont have 6 people)

$915 = £490 approx. Then a further £100 on shipping to and from so around £600 for option 2.

On this option i do not know whether you will incur import tax and neither does jacob, i have emailed him and he thinks you will still be charged import tax for the additional parts he has used? (I dont know why he has to mark it that it has been modified with new parts) You can take this up with him yourself if you choose this option!

By the time you source another turbo and send it to him, is it really worth the bother, especially not knowing that you may be hit with some sort of import duty!

TBH, its not the deal i was hoping for but in comparisons to IHI pricing it is a hell of a lot cheaper!

So who's in, and who's out?

to start a GB (and this ones kinda in the wrong section) read the rules and it tells you who to email (not me if you want a quick reply)

Import Duty will probably be +10% of invoice and shipping, then vat on top.

Just to check my maths

£900 x 10% =£990

Plus VAT

£990 x 1.175 =£1163.00

Thats me out then.
You could buy an eliminator or ihi and mani combo for less than that.

Just too rich for me. Sorry guys if this affects your discount.

If morks import pricing is correct that price is putting me off also mate:( Its looking unlikely now for me aswell unless i can get hold of a spare k04 and send it to him or persuade Jacob to send it as a gift;)

James/Scotty, how about you 2? What are your feelings? Wait until the GTRS comes out and get an easy 320 on standard manifold or stay with this option?

James ill speak to you tomorrow evening on msn mate, ive been really busy today and not had time to get on the computer much:)

Sorry

ok fella, tho i wont be online until night time!

my feelings are of disappointment! :(

i think we all thought it was goin to be a fair bit cheaper!

i was hoping to have it done and dusted (fitted to car) for about £1k!

maybe its worth trying to persuade Jacob to risk it for a biscuit with regards to the import/gift!

especially if theres a few of us! ;) (money in his pocket at the end of the day!)
