i see... but the idea of a flexy pedal is a pain the in ass :(

the problem with the brake servo is the reason i went for the eliminator, else i would have gone for the gt28rs kit.

yeah - it's totally crap, but it's what CupraT suggests he's doing

I would suggest it's more likely he's junked the idea by now as no amount of cash will let it work with that kit

i see! well i stayed on a budged on my install and managed to get

turbo and fitting kit

high flow mani

430cc genesis injectors

atp 3" big bore inlet

big custom SMIC (which outperforms some FMIC)

carbonio CAI

all for around £1790 shipped to the UK

fitted myself, and a few extra for some tools i needed. if i get 320bhp or so for this then im very happy! seeing as to get around this or maybe a bit more from a IHI is around 4k+

Don't be too quick to jump to conclusions m0rk ;)

Car goes in Sunday for the conversion to start. There are going to be problems, that's for sure.....but there's always answers to problems. It may be the case that a different manifold is needed, and perhaps smaller dual race bred brake servers are needed, but until the engine is test fitted it's all speculation.

Time will tell.

half of it was to produce a reaction as it'd died a death....

if you're changing teh manifold, get a DP manufacturered too & you'll retain stock servo

retaining the turbo & bits of your DP - see JBS kit.

Yeah i know, been slack on the posting front recently ;)

The lads are having a new 3" exhaust built for the car along with modding/new DP, so hopefully that's covered.

There's a possibilty of putting a flanged elbow on the existing ATP mani to kick the turbo to a more upright position, but like i said, until the engines in, it's all speculation.

I've emailed JBS abouts manis etc.

Had my next batch of parts arrive from the US yesterday.

SPEC Stage 2 Clutch

USRT Fuel Pressure Gauge

Also had my Peloguins diff through the other week, so that's being sent of with the box when it's rebuilt. Box casing is being powder coated aswell.

Also ordered the management system yesterday. Went for Emerald, as they're only 30 miles up the road from me, and secondly i'd like to use the mapping skills of Dave Walker.

Engine is coming out of the VR this week, so test fitting of the 1.8T will follow soon after.

I know, there wasn't a pic of a stage 2.

I've been assured that a stage 2 will be fine for my application, the stage 2 is rated to 385lb/ft of torque.

i been running a stage 2 hybrid over 2 years now 20k miles and it does well

sorry my mistake, I thought the torque was given in nm's but
it's lb/ft. 385lb/ft = 525nm and that's perfect.

Are you using the oe 12kg duel mass flywheel ore have you got
a g60 flywheel with a VR6 228mm clutch?

On how much pressure you’re going to run the injectors?

One question: the change to the G60 flywheel and VR6 clutch is a classic but what I wonder is: doesn't the flywheel from a different engine need balancing? I mean, unless it's zero-balanced it should need some sort of balancing for the 1.8T engine,,, not? what am I missing?

No worries.

I'm using a G60 flywheel which we're having lightened and balanced. The clutch is for 02A gerboxes, so effectively a VR6 clutch.

Using a 4 bar regulator for fueling.

ok, same here. I was planning to use a 10lbs flywheel (about 4,5kg).
I also have got a 4 bar fpr but was planing to use the green
top 440cc bosch injectors, but I read a topic on vwvortex and they
don't spray good. So now I'm thinking go with the genesis.
They will give 480cc on 4bar and that will work.

380cc's (LCR/TT/S3) run at 4bar are a better spray pattern & flow about the same as 440's at 3bar

but they will give just 440cc @ 4bar (please correct me if I’m wrong (again:D ))
and that’s the minimum that the GTRS requires. And I want to have it just
a little over the 440cc so that the software writer don’t have a limitation on
the fuel. Probably it’s not a problem but I want to eliminate suchs things.

(what octane (?) have you got there, we hava 95 and 98 but Germany has 100[B)] )

Went down to see how the conversion was coming on last night.

We messed about with positioning of the engine to allow room for the turbo. The rear mounts have got to be fabricated to allow the engine to be positioned where we need it.

We roughly bolted up the turbo, new USRT short runner intake manifold etc.

Picture below. (sorry for the poor quality but you get the idea)
