IMO 100+ is where M3's really come alive.. My old mans certainly romped on.. I remember us racing my mate in his 370bhp Evo VI from about 80+ and my mates Evo took from 80 to about 130 to pull one car length on us, then it started to go back in the M3's favour..
You need a decent driver in one, plus if it's SMG it'll be slightly slower..
The 0-100 on them is quoted at 11.8 by the way..

11.8, now thats quick!

i 100% believe you guys wen u say 100+ is when it comes alive, as to a degree i think similar about my car!

i guess the convertible is that much heavier hence why i had a good go against one! :)

"In our tests, the M3 ripped from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds flat turning a good chunk of the California atmosphere to gelatin in the process. Devouring the quarter-mile takes just 13.5 seconds at 105 mph."

Taken from "Inside line" website.

So James your not going to be far off a M3..... nothing about top end but you are likely to be him to top as the M3 is limited to 155 and I doubt yours is! :)

E36's M3's aint quick..they are supremly average. The e36 evo is a different matter. They are very quick

sorry mate your talking out your arse the e36 m3 has a faster 0-60 and 0-100 than the e36 m3 evo, they had to increase the evos power to 320ish to cope with the twin vanos and the 6 speed box because it was slower than the current e36 m3 so they got it much closer by upping the bhp,

321bhp to be precise and the E46 M3 started at 341bhp but may be higher now.

Was working for them when they brought the car out in Evo form.... was RAPID!!!!

Are you sure?

(3.0l-24v I6) Euro Version - 210 kW/286 bhp 0-60 mph - 6.0 s. Top Speed: 155 mph (electronically limited)
(3.2l-24v I6) Euro Version - 240 kW/321 bhp 0-60 mph - 5.5 s. Top Speed: 155 mph (electronically limited)

And E46 is

(3.2l-24v I6) - 343 PS (US model = 333 hp / 252 kW) 0-60 mph - 4.8 seconds (U.S. model). Top Speed: 155 mph (electronically limited) 184 mph (delimited)

yeah ive seen it mate very low figures to be honest the evo isnt even the 321 stated you would be lucky to have one that had 310bhp where as the normal m3 was always 286 or above, there isnt alot in it performance wise, but evo is defo not "quicker"

No worries just going on the figures.... Driven both and thought the Evo was quicker but it depends on how the original car has been driven.... They loosen up.

Either way they are both quick! :) but the E46 is definitely the quickest. :)

i have had a go against the vxr astra and left it and god he was trying also a guy i know got one brand new paid £23000 for it and only had it 3 months and kept getting his arse kicked so he swaped it for an evo and he omly got £15000 for the vxr :wtf: so god they lose money quick.
I'd be livid if that happened to me. Imagine you spend 23k thinking your gonna kick ass and you dont....

totally agree was getting one a month ago but just bought a flat to rent out as it was a good oppotunity just saving the pennies again!

Nice one, investment is always better than buying an ever depreciating product... I am saving slowly, getting the suspension done on mine end october then it is money into my flat for curtains and carpets.... :)

Won't be spending on the car again till middle of next year at the earliest. :(

TBH you have to be pretty stupid in my eyes to spend £23k on a brand new vauxhall if you want to own the road as it were. Think of the options out there in that price bracket.

Ben where did you get your car dyno'd that is some awesome figure for revo stg1 is that all you have done to it

Had it RR'd at JBS when it only had 4,000 miles on her and got 263.8bhp and got it RR'd again at M tec (I think that's what it was called) on a RR day that had a mixture of RS's, LCR's, Focus ST's, Megane 225 etc etc.. That was about 2 months ago (38,000 miles) There was a stage 2 Revo'd LCR there, but he only managed 245 for some strange reason..
I didn't think it was that high.. I've seen a couple on here that have a little higher TBH.. But as we know, all RR give different results..
