What dealer is that Flapper?? I was wondering about the one I was looking at. It was advertised as a Cupra Sport and had the morrette headlights but it had 8v wheels on it.

Sounds like an 8v to me, the best way is to look under then bonnet. If it hasn't got that big cross flow head it aint a 16V

Oh and never take your current car to look at new cars, take someone elses. They always have a strop if you do.

I havent been to look at it yet. I think my 1.4 knew that I was thinking about it because it broke the pedal box.

Craig if its Tornado Red T530 XTO your looking at its an 8v

And over priced at that mileage with no mention of service history

Yep it is that one I was looking at. I didnt know you could get the morrettes on the 8v. Im sure the insurance comes up saying its a 16v.

The website is wrong, they have knocked £200 off it. So its priced at £1250.

Im really tempted to hold out and try and get a mint white 16v. Id love a white one tbh.

RutherFord's sadly and it sounds like the one you are on about - sorry - DVLA list it as AGG 2.0 8v :(

^^^ yup that's the one

and the Morette's were an official accessory you could have fitted to any model - our old demo red Cordoba 16v was the first car to have them on

My parents had a look at said car when they were across picking up my new pedal box for me and the car is in worse condition than mine.

Dent in the drivers door and around the morrettes isnt very good either.

Think Ill give that one a miss.

you learn to shuffle ya rear end about the lower squab as you dare not puch your elbow into the crack that's appeared in the drivers door trim for frear of making it worse

in doing so pulling on the steering wheel and making the bearing wear quicker and loosen the lower UJ

You know you have a mk2 when you take the scuttle panel and tray off carefully and you put it on and it never fits exactly like it was.

you know you have a mk2....
...when some guy in a Hyundai Coupe tries to tailgate ya between red lights, until you actually give him something to talk about....
...then the next set of lights he pulls up and slowly creeps in the fast lane checking your car out, then asks about it

he had a 2.0 16v in his, it only produces 145bhp (looked quite new) then i told him mine, standard engine, 150bhp (maybe more?) he was like WTF?

then it turns into the motorway (national speed limit 70mph) so we had it to 60mph....what you think happened? :p woop woop!

haha mate i hate tailgaters, pee me the hell off!

best thing on motorway is to put windscreen washers on, all the spray goes on them, so they back up as they can't see, so bloody funny! i did it for ages when some div in a corsa vxr was doing it (nice car, shame about the pleb behind the wheel) i got a nice hand gesture as i laughed my ass off at him as i finally let him pass lmao
