Hi everyone :)

The car is going on for a brake fluid change in a couple of weeks and I've asked the garage to look at some other things - i.e. creaking boot lid, buzzing rear window and paint coming off window switch.

The car is nearly 2 years old but I'm not 100% sure when it's birthday is without checking.

My question is, do I need to bother checking - if the car is into it's 3rd year warantee by the timne the car goes in will the garage try and charge me for the checks/fixes I mentioned above? How comprehensive is Yr3?

Thanks :)

But only if you have a valid Seat service record..... i think i read that somewhere...

Technically (and I think Quentin Wilson used to harp on about this) as long as the car has been serviced to manufacturer's standards with genuine or equivalent parts then the warranty is valid.

However, I'll be getting the K1 serviced at a main dealer, it's just less hassle than trying to argue if it came to that.

Im sure i was told that the first 2 years have no conditions eg service it wherever you like as long as it is registered, but the third year was dependant on you having it serviced by Seat.... maybe i read it wrong?
