Who would you recommend? Revo is interesting as it's stealthy, so I hear.
Does anyone custom map and take you out on the road while hooked up to a computer?
Pal of mine had his CRX with Nitrous mapped like that, added launch control while they were kicking it round!

Have a look at the sponsors on here.

What do you mean by stealthy?

Any mapper that doesn't have a rolling road will probably do it like that :p

But what it doesn't lose goes straight to the tarmac :D Although still a perfect launch should be closer..
Is the S3 lighter? I'd expect it to be heavier...
Thought S3 would be heavier especially with the AWD system to carry too, but interesting, I'll look it up.

Stealthy as in I thought the dealer/ mechanic or insurer will not find it in there without searching it out.
Also can't the Revo be reversed in an instant?

On average without a driver there about 1400kg but that can give or take 50kg depending on extras etc.
Yeah you have got a point, havent managed to spin the wheels yet, wet or dry.

Evo magazine state's the LCR weighs 1376kg? That's not even close to what you guys have said???? Surely nearly 2 tone is a bit heavy for a average size car, aren't rangerovers 2 tone?

Thats b***ocks, the s3 does not weigh 2 tonnes, mine weighs 1461kg so id love to know what extras id need to get upto the 1900kg.

lol i was thinking same as you dan, 1900kg is closer to a Bentley or Range Rover than a S3.

Quite surprised at what you guys are getting 0 - 60. Do you need 3rd gear to get to 60. On a S3 you can but you would have lost boost a long time ago.

yeah the standard lcr is 1350kgs, and the s3 is a bit heavier. interesting to see the 60-100mph time difference.

well i get to 60 just before the end of 2nd gear. the biggest factors in the times in my experience would be launch and first gear change.

btw, is it best to rev it to as far as it goes on a remapped lcr? because i can rev to 7.5k as apposed to 6.5k standard but iv heard that the power tails off so its better to change earlier?not sure on that one!

From what I understand many cars don't have peak power right at the top end but you rev that bit further to compensate for the drop in revs during the change.
That might be rubbish the racers on here should know. where's Bill? :p

They're all invisible to the eye if that is what you mean. If the ECU was read and compared to a standard map then it could be seen I suppose.

Revo can supply a switch to 'turn off' the improved map but it doesn't turn it off as such it just switches to a Revo version of the standard map. When you are remapped the standard mapping is gone.

Obviously you should inform your insurer if you get a remap and wouldn't post on a public forum that you had done anything otherwise ;)

Well i can reach 60 in second on mine and still just be on boost but i know other guys who have to change to third to hit 60, the only problem ive got is that second crunch's on mine so sometimes it can be a bitch to get into it if changing fast.

from that info it looks like the LCR is better than the S3 in every way apart from the 0-60 time  which is great i suppose lol

Off topic, but great suggestion, I've known of lap timers for iPhone for ages but I can run RaceChrono on my Nokia and it's free! Will give it a go tonight, what do you think of its accuracy?

racechrono is alright,im still trying to figure out how to use it properly for 0-60 times. you have to have it in clear view of the sky, and the annoying thing is, you dont know when it starts. as soon as you get a satalite lock, go for it as it ends up starting when it wants to if not.
