wondered if remapping stage 1 would lower 0-60 or just mid range ?
you will get different times indeed, but the variant times will be a lot lower.
i did 0-60 times and averaged a 7.2/ 7.3 before my remap, and now im averaging 6.2/ 6.3 after my remap, thats with my burst exhaust, bald tyres and worn bushes.
im getting the above sorted, then going for the 0-60 tests again. a friend of mine managed to get his to just under 5.9, and iv heard it can get lower if the launch is perfect.
so fingers crossed
I thought the book figure for LCR was 6.7 or something....
Are Sat-Nav's more accurate than the speedo for this?
That doesn't sound as fast as I would expect from a LCR, i'm curious now what I can get in mine
How did you time yours?
Is this something VAG-COM can do?
I think 6.9 is the official line
I thought the book figure for LCR was 6.7 or something so i'd assume that 6.4 was achievable with some practice from a stock car. The CTR was about 6.4 so it'd leave the LCR for dead if the LCR was in the 7s. Subaru Impreza STi is supposed to be about 5.5 (265bhp) and my LCR stays with that all the way.
Anyway, I would have thought that a remapped LCR would be somewhere in the 5's surely? My old Civic VTi was in the 6's.
unless your clutch slips!!
How much faster will depend on what engine you have in the first place and who and what remap you have.
What Leon is it? and where do you live?
depends who does the remap?
Who would you recommend? Revo is interesting as it's stealthy, so I hear.
Does anyone custom map and take you out on the road while hooked up to a computer?
Pal of mine had his CRX with Nitrous mapped like that, added launch control while they were kicking it round!
it can be done via vag com, or stop watch (which would be inacurate), and a cool software iv got called race chrono on my phone, it does all these mad tests using 9 gps satelites.
0-60 is 7.1 on the 210bhp models which is what i have, and the 0-60 is 6.9 on the 225bhp models.
thats in perfect conditions and perfect tyres and perfect launch etc.
i keep up with scoobies as well, from rolling of course. im not a master of launching so i always end up lighting up the front wheels at launches. im sure a 0-60 of around 5.5s is achievable by a better driver/conditions.
when i done the tests i didnt bother shedding weight, kept the spare wheel in, had my huge sub box (very heavy) in the boot, and had a fat (sorry jabes) passenger as my co-pilot.
God surprised at the 0-60 times of the standard LCR, us s3 guys are meant tobe, 210 0-60 6.4 an 225 0-60 6.2 and weve got AWD so more transmission loss.
