Wierd Knockin noise

I lowered the car and that was all fine , eventually got round to havin the camber and trackin sorted , since the car has been tracked and sorted there is a weird knockin noise when the wheel is turned , does any one have any ideas , also the engine light has come on and i no that it is not related to the knockin noise , but the fault code comes up as over boost , wud a faulty waste gate or any other bits on the turbo cause this problem .

mine used to make a knocking sound and it was bottom ball joint

cheers buddy , are they expensive to have replaced , not taking the car to seat lol they do more damage than good ,

how much you lowered yours by?as the pic in sig looks alot

its about 50mm all round , was lower but it was a no fun drivin round at 20mph every where as the oil sump kept hittin on bumps and speed humps hwere a no no .

Get vag com or someone with it to see what the fault code is for the light.


And the knocking, is like clunking sound, its a common sound apparently, i get it and i think Daz gets it quite bad.

i had that bit done to be honest and it came up wid over boost , is the vag com something different from what seat use ,

could be your arb knocking, mine used to do that!

like i say mine did it when i had a ibiza cupra and it was the arb, only when it was lowered though, and as you say, only when turning the wheel, ie turning in the road, or off your drive or something

My cupra R knocks when I reverse turn. Its annoying but apparently fine. Nothing wrong with the car. Ive checked my service history & everytime the garage has searched to see what was causing it, yet nothing was ever found & they say its fine!
