Ok so is it not possible to turn the traction fully of on a 2015 cupra?

I press it once and it puts esc in sport hold it and it turns it off.

But the traction is still on and costantly cutting in!! So anoying!!

Please tell me im doing something wrong and it can be turnt fully off!! :(

I didn't realise holding it down didn't turn it off completely.
There is always the fuse option, or maybe VAGCOM?

Adjust your driving style, mine never comes on when pushing hard.

Then you're not pushing hard enough :D

Just kidding, but in previous cars I've found the traction a hinderance, but on this one the dealer fit Kumhos are terrible, so sooner they're worn out the better!

When I select stability control in sport mode, I find the traction control is disabled. I don't know why the display does not say this instead of 'stability control restricted'.

I wasn't sure stability control was completely off even when I went through all the settings and acknowledged that everything was. I can confirm that 'off' is defo 'off' when I did a 360 on track with a little lift off oversteer in the wet.

Is it definitely the traction cutting in or could it be wheel hop? I have a 2015 Cupra 280 ST, it was possible to spin the wheels up to produce smoke & put rubber down just by doing that. I've experienced a bit of wheel hop with the traction control off, seems down to the standard fit potenzas. Going to go for eagle asymmetric when they wear out, I can't financially justify binning the tyres with not even 4000 miles on them. Some folk recommend super sports to combat the wheel hop. I liked the fact that the only tyre approved for police pursuit vehicles in NI is the eagle asymmetric, and they run some nice pursuit vehicles and with hardly any motorway here they have to be able to go round bends. Plus it rains all the time here and they apparently stop well in the wet in comparison tests.

I put conti sport 5p's back on my car 2 weeks ago, got 9 months out of my original ones and my car gets a hard life once it is warm. I have never had any issues with wheel hop, it will spin but they are fantastic grip wise. I think a lot is driving styles and learning the power on the Cupra's.

I wouldn't dare driving on Kumhos for my own's safety

To be fair in the dry they aren't bad, but in the wet they aren;t great at all. I use to run Yoko Parada Spec 2's that were epic on the MINI, but in the wet very very slippy so used to driving slow in the wet. But now I have a daughter I want all the grip I can get all of the time.

Going to go for the Asymmetric 3's more than likely, but on the last Leon the Dunlops I changed to where really really good and quiet, will see what the prices are.

Not sure if I've missed something, but my Cupra definitely has the ability to turn the traction off without fiddling with VCDS.

Going into the menu gives the 3 options.

Just fiddled with it now and if I turn it off I get the warning.

If I press the traction button above the heating controls it puts it in ESC Sport. If I hold it down it turns it off altogether. And the menu option when checked does show ESC off. And the dash shows the traction light the same way BMW's and MINI's show when the traction is turned off.

Mine is exactly the same as yours. But the light above that flashes and cuts in even in off mode.

Looking at the description it does refer to ESC, always assumed that was everything but maybe not.
I need better tyres either way lol
