if yer doin the S3 brace dont forget to shine yer bolts!!!!

;) - I'll be happy just to get it on there!

I'm begining to think that coilovers may be a little OTT for what I'll need. I don't think I'll need the adjustability and most of them seem to be fairly harsh.

Yermother has just had some Koni FSDs and Eibach springs on his and they seem to be a good compromise between sportyness and a comfortable ride at a decent price point.

I think I need to go out in cars with both before I decide.

I've just been thinking about how long I spend driving on the edge...

What's the extra money on the coilies actually going to get me?

jimbo... if we ever cross paths at a meet il take u for a ride in mine... the ride quality with FK silverline x coilovers is the same as OE suspension!

That'd be cool James.

They're not underdamped like OE I assume. The issue for me is the cost with the Half decent coilies. Seems like the prices on the FKs have gone up to manufacturer having a strop about retailers discounting.

I was obv taking the mick above mate but good question re coilies. I went with mine cos H&R had a good name and I'm also a believer to a degree in the adage that you get what you pay for

A lot of folk on here seem to have non-coilies and seem happy enough but I went for the best I could afford

I also tend to do a number of trackdays so might need the adjustment aspect

At the moment on limited driving I'm finding mine a bit crashy (bit like stock) so need to see if that can be adjusted. If not I'm sure I'll get used to them. Ride quality in general isn't too bad. I think they might be set up quite harsh and I mentioned the track aspect prior to fitting

As with James' offer, if we should cross paths more than welcome to take it for a spin :)

Cheers guys!

I'm going to concentrate on getting a remap and fitting the bits I've already bought first.

Is it worth getting the strutbrace I have done first or will it be easier to just wait and have it done with the suspension?

oh yea as for the price of coilovers... i orignally was just goin to get springs and shocks but i was feeling a bit flush and i got a complete bargin on my FKs that i couldnt resist!

im sooo glad i did go for coilovers because i think the ride quality is very good (im sure springs and shocks would have been good too tho) and also because at jabba they had to raise my car so i could get on the RR! (im lowered about 30/35mm)... so if i was on springs and shocks i would have been fcuked!

Heres my opinion.

I have neuspeed 25mm front and 28mm back with eibach pro street s coilovers with quaife diff.

I am very happy with my set up, the eibach coilovers can be a bit thuddy at low speed but once on the move it smooths out the worst of bumps.

After having the car aligned the car feels totally perfect in the way it corners, the speed that can be carried through a series out roundabouts is insane. Just stamp on the throttle and just let the car grip.

Oh forgot to say I have 235/40/18 tyres they also seem more comfortable than 225's.

Top 3 mods:
1. Diff
2. ARBs
3. Coilovers

With these you'll have a serious machine for cornering. Its trial and error really with these mods and down to taste.

do you have standard LCR alloys?!

Think 235 is a common fitment for Eagle F1's mate

I've seen a lot online in that size and think they fit the standard alloys. Just a smidge wider and should afford the rim a bit more protection that the 225 Pirelli's which are shocking on that score :censored:

Most LCR drivers have Coilovers or these new Koni's due to the fact very few Tuners make replcement/uprated dampers and spring sets.

Loads of MK1V Golf applications (so the rear will fit) but the Front set up and ARB carriers will be wrong.

rudd is right, and it has just made me think... you could always see what spring/damper kits are out there for the TT as my FKs are identical to the TT kit, well the front is, and the rear is the mk4 golf!

just anouther thought/option! ;)
