Looking at the drop figures for suspension kits I assume they're based on the height of standard leon suspension?

Is the Cupra the same as any other Leon? I know the LCR is lower but how much lower as stock?

I know feel just did the rear ARB on standard suspension and he seems happy with it and didn't mention any odd handling characteristics.

No - I have no odd characteristics

25mm rear if you're going rear only - 28mm is too much.

Not sure about the Cupra mate but think LCR is 15-20mm lower than standard Leon

I asked for min drop on my H&R's and I think they went down by about 20 mm from LCR height

If I have the chance I'll post a pic later

It's difficult to get specific info when (as you say) the drop is from Std car rather than LCR ride height. It's still difficult enough to be 100% certain that the kit is specifically made for the LCR rather than just Golf Mk1V

Indeed and it seems that the majority of the resellers don't really know either. I've been looking at the KW stuff and it looks ok.

Were your PSS' confirmed as compatible with the LCR?

I have the KW stuff, the minimum drop is what it was set to on sun if you noticed, never bothered measuring before i did it to work out what the drop is, but looking around most people with coilovers are lower than i am anyway.

This conversations going a little different to sunday when you said you wanted to spend as little as possible to save for your wedding, but stop it leaning as much in the corners. I still think a 25 at the back best suits you (easier to hide from the missus  . I think i'd go out in phils car and see if you can live with the ride before committing to coilovers.

Consider 28mm Rear and 25mm Front

Unless your missus spends her time lying down in the drive she'll never notice ;)

Unlike 'some' people I'm not guessing if this works, I tried it and drove 20k Miles with it ;)

But with Standard shocks?

It's really an either or for me at the moment.

If you can't have both together mate go shocks first. Choice will most likely be based on your budget

You can always add the ARB's at a later date

On the ARB front I've got 28mm front and rear. I was gonna have same set-up as Rudd but BBT's advised going for the biggies all round. Seems to work ok at the mo. To be tested more fully this Fri on track :drive2:

we discussed order earlier and my view hasn;t changed

In retrospect I think if I had to do it in stages then I would do this order.....
1 - Decent Rubber in lieu of cr@p Pirelli's + Dog Bone engine mount and front strut brace
2 - Coilovers
3 - ARB's

My comments were really related to Neil C's comments on the 25mm rear, I think 28mm is the better solution  and bigger ARB's on the front seems to improve things and not cause massive understeer as people had suggested, therefore 25mm on the front or more is what I would suggest

Hi Steve

Your suspension there looks like it is lower on the right than it is on the left...?

The shiny metal bit is different?

I'm not going to disagree with you, i have a 28 r and 25 front and drove 15k+ with no probs (once the front was fitted)! I did find it understeered a little, but it is a fwd car and you tend to go into corners quicker when the car aint rolling all over the shop so i wasnt exactly suprised!

I was just saying that if your after a budget solution and think it only rolls a little bit then perhaps a 25 on the back will be enough, as it seems to be for a few on here.
If you think it rolls over more than the french then something more is going to be needed and as the cost are similar when you factor in fitting/free fitting, then the coilovers offer the best vfm and the biggest difference (as i said in my first post).

Think i may have to come over and try Empi5's car as well at the w/e as the just coilovers is the only option i haven't tried yet on a LCR (best make sure you fill up with petrol lol). Although as you drive faster than me you can drive
