Which is the better car... Exeo or Superb?

Hi everyone

I get to choose my new company car soon, and out of a small choice of 6, I’ve narrowed it down to either a Seat Exeo Sport 2.0Tdi 143 or a Skoda Superb SE with the same engine.

Before I changed jobs my previous car was a Leon FR CR Tdi, which was a great car, and I previously owned a mk2 Toledo, so I rather like the Seat brand. But I’m tempted with the Skoda as it’s a more modern design, bigger and more practical (I can put the dog in the boot...), still meant to be good to drive and its comfy and I like the design of the interior. However, the Exeo is better equipped (especially if the company will let me add the tech pack) and probably sportier and more fun to drive.

I appreciate that I may get a slightly biased answer (but I’ll ask the same question on Briskoda) but which car do you think I should go for, and more importantly why? Has anyone driven both or also had to choose between the two?

It’s a shame that the ST version is not on the list, because that would help me make my mind up! (But then so would the elegance version of the Skoda...)

Many thanks

Rob

I looked at both. Admittedly I was buying personally, so I could go for a deal.

I liked the Superb a lot. I didn't like the the fancy dual opening boot. It was fussy and didn't ever open the way I wanted it to. I really wanted an estate (and at the time there was no Superb estate). But it is huge. by far the best value by size.

I've got an exoe ST, I love it. The engine is getting better with time, just about 5k now and beginning to loosen up a bit. I'm also beginning to explore the chassis. Pretty good for a front wheel drive, not in the same space as a Lean FR, but composed and controlled (mostly) and very comfortable.

If I got a good deal on a Superb estate? I'd possibly go for it, but no regrets with the Exeo, and liking more as time goes by

I looked at both & in terms of space and what you get for your money the Superb wins hands down. I chose not to go for it purely as I found it too big & looks dept.

Rob,

If you want to take a closer look at the Exeo, let me know ;) I'm in Derby to.

Andy - Many thanks for the kind offer, as soon as I receive confirmation from work on the list I'll give you a shout.

Greatly appreciated

Thats my dilema too, can't fault the Superb on value for money, but can I really have a car with a back end looking like that??? The Estate does look better, but would be just way too big! At least with the Exeo I'm more likely to have the excuse "sorry love, but it won't fit in the car" when I get dragged to Ikea!:D

Carmarthenshire, Wales.
Driven both, Exeo 143 Sport manual & a Superb 170 Elegance DSG. Exeo was a fairly sporty drive, quality was good and went well, but felt very tight inside compared to my Altea, back seat space particularly poor!
The Superb really was superb! Quality was good - more limousine than sporty and the interior space - wow, it was vast! Must be a lovely car for long journeys. However, the hatch looks like a KGB staff car - devoid of style! Estate looks much better but is massive!
Two different types of car imho.

I drove the Seat Exeo, Skoda Octaiva VRS, Audi A4 and the Passat.
Ineeded a estate.
just after ordering my Exeo I found out that the Superb came in an estate too (with the option of 4wd), honestly i would have prob gone for a Superb, after a test drive obvioulsy.

I also would have been disapointed after a few hundred miles and wished id gone with the Exeo, it is a very complete car.
