Wheel spacers

Just a quick couple of questions about wheel spacers on a MK 4 Ibiza.

1. Has anyone put spacers on the fronts as well as the back wheels? My reason for asking is because I did have 15mm spacers on the back which looked good. Problem was, this made the fronts look as if they sat further inside the arch in comparison

2. If anyone has spacers on the front wheels what sizes did they use?

Thanks

Ian :)

Putting spacers on the front isnt reccomended as it will upset your suspension geometry, and screw your wheel bearings.

if you want the wheels to look right, just put 5mm spacers on the back.. then the front + rear track will be the same.

cpufreak did this on his old Ibiza to get the wheels to clear the Brembos so it might be worth asking him.

I have 15mm on the back, have the bolts for a 10mm spacers on the front, but as said above got told against it due to knackering things up!!

I wouldnt bother too much...

Thanks for the replies folks!

Don't want to mess up the geometry etc so I guess I'll maybe get 8mm spacers for the back and see how that looks.

Thanks again :)

mr_s81: don't even bother at all! 15mm spacers fit with absolutely no problem! And they won't spoil the suspention for sure, as it is a really small spacer. Such values you can achieve with changing the ET of the wheels as well. I used to drive on 15mm spacers on both axles and it was ok. The handling in curves improved (apart from the look:D ). However, as I switched to oversized tires (215/40/17) I had to resign from the front spacers as they minimaly pinched (is this word correct?? ).

If your car is indeed lowered on those coilovers, youll probably find that bringing the front wheels further out will cause them to rub on the arches when driving in a straight line over bumps....
