Cheers everyone for replies. To summerise:

A std Mk2 ibiza is 130mm off the deck.
A LCR is 105mm at front of bumper and 135mm at rear and is ok on road - this gives me hope it will be ok

I have been thinking about removable bumper - this may be the answer
Another alternative is some tall 'travel' wheels - slaves thay call em on JCB's etc

Current tyre is 205/45/16 eagle F1 - radius = 292mm
Same tyre available as 225/55/16 - radius = 324mm, increase clearance 32mm
That may do the trick - these are only my occasional use wheels anyhow so a tall tyre would be no real issue.
At the extreme, toyo do a van tyre 205/80/16, radius = 364mm, increase clearance 72mm pmsl.

At the other end of the scale, my race slicks are 269mm radius - 23mm decrease......rear edge now = 52mm and front edge = 77mm

Low rider....do do do do do, do do do do do........

Maybe reversing on is an option and choosing a ramped (long one) trailer.

Lots to consider practically I guess, low but transportable somehow.

i wouldn't generally recommend reversing a fwd / front engined car onto a trailer, as it tends to put the CofG of the trailed car behind the trailers wheels, which even with a 4wheel trailer screws up the correct nose weight, and make the whole lot snake around a lot!:-o

i'm sure a removable bumper with either Dzus fastners or bonnet pins could be rigged failry easily, and also gives access to rake out any grass / rabbits etc from the rad after any little off's! lol

editted to add, also you could get some spring packers made up in nylon or similar, just jack up the car, insert the packers then drive it onto the trailer, just remember to take them out before you compete......
