dam its still cold out there you know...

thought id be good and go measure.
the front is 70mm off the floor and the back of the front is 80mm off the floor.

i adapted my front bumper which is why the front is lower than the back

hope this helps and hope you appreciate it.
im running the car on 17s and on the lowest profile of a 17 which i cant remember what it is but im sure you can find out if you need to.

oh and as previous yes it scrapes a lot. see in my sig how ive parked on the pavement. i cant go much higher up than that because it rubs the floor, even at the slight incline which the pavement is on

Right - front of the bumper is 140mm, trailing edge is 130mm.

Cant tell you how much its supposed to be lowered by, but its 230mm from the ground to the top of the side skirt as a datum.

the only trouble I have is the short humps in carparks - the chassis bottoms out.

Brrrrrrrr

and multi stories are a big no no... as well as fields, some speed bumps (like the sainsburys near me) some are just too high to even get over never mind scrape, it would be more of a folding action, cant mount curbs, not that i would with new alloys, cant drop off them (sometimes)

only 2mm difference due to the tyre then - 13mm must be due to suspension - what you on suspension wise ?

Thanks for braving the elements - mine's 70mm at the back, more like 100mm at front, sounds like its going to be a pain in the arse though

for a sprint car,it sounds like it's about 68mm too high at the back and 98mm too high at the front! lol!

what i've done is to add a vertical flexible black plastic "lip" to the front edge, stiff enough to act as an air dam, but flexible enough to move outta the way when hit

front is 90-100mm and rear edge near wheel is 70mm - stupid design if you ask me, 100mm for all of it would have been much more useable

would really like to know some exact measurements if folk have time. Ta.

May be no use but my LCR is

105mm front of bumper Tarmac to Splitter.
135mm rear of bumper near to Arch

Car does 20k miles per annum and is rarely phased by speed ramps, if in doubt I take them at an angle whic seems to help

getting it on & off a trailer will be a consideration too. (knowing how mine rubs) and mines due to get lower when I suss suspension.. (to regs)

good point, depends what trailer you have, the tilt bed ones with extra long tail are pretty good, certainly you can get a sports 2000 or similar race car on them, otherwise buy some extra long ramps!

Mind you getting cars off trailers can be very easy, many years ago we were loading my old 205gti stage car on to the trailer, my mate drove it on, i reminded him to leave it in gear as the handbrake was flyoff type, he got out, we removed the ramps, we walked forwards to get the tie down straps out of the van, and when we turned back around the car was about 20feet behind the trailer having rolled off without any ramps! oooops!

clip on clip off bumper?
whats to stop you using bonnet clips on the sides of the bumper and soft washers to prevent rattle damage?

I have only trailored mine once so dont prefer to be an expert... Hired one for the Scottish sprint I did last year. Never towed before, but learnt a lot on what I would have myself one day, or look to hire another day etc.
Tiltbed is what I hired, and even with that front nose of my bumper caught on the trailer bed (flappy license plate thing out of the base) and turned inside out! Yikes.. glad I was reversing it and not seeing it... Very robust these seat bumpers dont ya know (thank god) Maybe reversing on is an option and choosing a ramped (long one) trailer.

Lots to consider practically I guess, low but transportable somehow.

On the topic of towing competition cars, lots of the guys in the ASWMC championship that run in the Sports Libre and Racing Car classes have front ends or nose cones that can easily be removed for the purposes of loading onto and unloading off trailers. Would it be so hard to rig a front bumper to be eaily removable using Dzus fasteners or similar?
