Pov, 38k is that before or after haggling?

After, although its not set in stone and we havent had a proper dual yet, just sorta a off the record chat. It might be worth noting that it isnt a brand new car, it has some mileage on it as the boss of the garage is driving it. It was up for 46k not long ago though.

Right, just found a suzuka grey driptop in newcastle, for 39900 so they're clearly coming down finally. Specced it on current audi configurator and after adjusting back to 15% VAT it comes out at 48,200.

Yeah the prices are dropping. Dont think many ordinary people can justify that price tag when the TTS is arguably the pick of the bunch. I only want the RS for its engine also.

Try for a 5% discount on that car too.

Not quite at the point where I'm putting down cash, particularly on a driptop. I need to think about it a bit. Like you I love the idea of the 2.5 but it is a big premium. Ho hum, we shall see.

Pov:- Are you attending this Sunday's Pod meet with us "Boring, Sad" GTi boys to show us what this Cupra is made of? lol
Be good to see you and see some of the other Cupra's and what they can do when against the clock..

In regards to the subject. I agree with you about finding it hard to find a decent replacement for not a lot more money.
Good thing with the Golf, Leon and S3 is that they are fairly cheap to run, insure, tax etc and BHP/£'s is very hard to beat. I am looking at the possibility of maybe a 135i next, especially as they are revising the engine and making it available with the DCT (DSG) gearbox. Few mods and they are animals..

Just check the figures of some of these.. (Standard turbo and internals too)

I had a 08 impreza sti I got rid of it for a 07 cupra, save on tax, insurance, easy to mod and get faster than my Scooby. Sti bad points weak pistons that where breaking on standard 300bhp headgaskets failing around 30,000 miles, I wanted to have stage 1 380bhp for £1600 but I would of had to uprate pistons and put a cosworth headgasket on that was between £2200-£2500 befour I even started, then talk about the crap steering feedback witch needed sorting with better suspension, it would of been nearer £5000 on top of the £18000 i paid so not good value for money so I got rid as it was pretty lame and boring to drive and oversteered like mad great company to deal with they bend over backwards to help you, but I would like a m3 or evo, but I'm more than happy with the cupra for now which handles well enough cheap to tax, service, mod and run each to there own I suppose tho

Wow! This is a really old thread but I was thinking about this the other day. I'm sure that there's only one car that I'm going to after my cupra, unless the lottery is involved lol. And it's a mustang. I know its a bit fat and wallowy, but they just do it for me. It's the noise, and the look and it's got a big fat v8 under the bonnet. I know it's not as quick as my stage 2+ (unless I supercharge it lol) but I think my cupra will be the quickest car I own for quite a while.

The mustang has got so much charisma and personality, and thats what I'll be looking for in my next car.
